CTW DJs Tony P Posted March 8, 2004 CTW DJs Share Posted March 8, 2004 QUOTE (benrostwood @ Mar 8 2004, 12:58) QUOTE (Stu @ Mar 8 2004, 11:54) "sex on decks" apparently thats the cdj1000 the cdj800 isn't quite as good I don't know about that actually, in what ways would you say the 1000 is better??? the cdj800 actually has more functions and the mechanics are the same, it is also smaller. in my opinion it's actually just as good as the 1000 if not a wee bit better because of the added extras

CTW DJs Tony P Posted March 8, 2004 CTW DJs Share Posted March 8, 2004 haven't used a mk 2 was comparing it to the mk 1 QUOTE cdj1000 has far better lay out imo with better buttons etc for doing certain things, like changing between cdj and vinyl mode, and reverse but the 800 has all these features and its only pressing a button, does it really matter?? QUOTE cdj800 lacks the smart cards don't think you would be any sort of a dj if you relied on this actually, in my eyes its just cheating....sorry probably on a par with the mk 2, i agree with you there
CTW Members BenRW Posted March 8, 2004 Author CTW Members Share Posted March 8, 2004 i don't use the smart cards either except for just listening, i have it set up so that i can go to certain points in the tidy boys live @ tw2 at the touch of a button. Also for the techno mix of revolution on BK - Klub collaborations as it starts 7 mins into the last track can work without it tho. Its too easy as u said otherwise Quote I was going to post a gag about flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality but it's just flogging a dead horse. CTW DJs Tony P Posted March 8, 2004 CTW DJs Share Posted March 8, 2004 so not really worth the extra money just for that then is it?

Sets the sample-cues up instantly!
CTW Members Nick G Posted March 8, 2004 CTW Members Share Posted March 8, 2004 I've found the 1000mk2 is better for mixing house as it's *slightly* more accurate than the 800's I've used, (though it might have been a pair of clapped out 8000's I was using at the time) but I prefer to use the 800's when mixing D&B as I find it much more fun being able to mess about with the loops more - you can do some wicked off-beat sheeeit on them! I think the 1000mk2 should have the *hot cue* buttons AND the old loop buttons - why take a wicked feature off of a *new and improved* model?? I've got a 1000mk2, but I will be investing in an 800 soon too, so that I can have the best of both worlds (so to speak)
CTW Members Nick G Posted March 8, 2004 CTW Members Share Posted March 8, 2004 P.S - what sort of price are you looking for??
CTW Members BenRW Posted March 8, 2004 Author CTW Members Share Posted March 8, 2004 i'm looking in the region of £400-450 which is fair considering it comes with a flightcase with removable lid. Am going to my mums 2moz which is where it is atm so will take a pic and post it up if i can get online there Quote I was going to post a gag about flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality but it's just flogging a dead horse.
