i had a few one night stands when i started University in the first year... student loans,cheap alcoholic drinks and in halls(away from parents!!)

 

but found this wasnt for me.

 

not saying that ill never do it again, but i like most people prefer sex when its in a relationship.

 

My housemates on the other hand are having a sorta competition...(!!!)they r tring to get to 30 by the time we finish in june.one has 9 to go the other has 4!

and yeas they have been to the clinic on several occasions,caught a variety of STI's and generally say its all fun.

 

i dont have a strong view on things like this as everyone is incharge of their own lives.but personallyi would not dream of doing this.as its just not for me.

Morals have got sod-all to do with it (unless you're religious and you let people tell you how you should think).

 

I think there are pros and cons of both. I think sex with someone you love is like nothing else - the reciprocal thing of giving and receiving pleasure at the same time can't be beaten.

 

One-night-stands are a bit hit-or-miss in my opinion, but they're bloody good for the ego.

Iv had ONE, one night stand.

 

Yeh it was good, im not going to lie about it, but the day after I just felt dirty and worthless.

 

Im sure lot's of people have one night stands and love it, whereas, I don't think I could do that again.

 

As someone said in this thread, sex with someone you are close to, there is nothing like it.

 

I couldn't show my body off to anyone other than partner that im with.

 

I put my smear off for 2 years because I didn't wana flash my bits as I coudn't stand the thought of it. And ever when I eventually got it done I walked away feeling sick and dirty.

i suppose everyone is different, i myself have always gone through different stages, i can be in a long term relationship, but then tend to have a couple of one night stands to find the next g/f!

 

does that sound bad???

Completely agree. It's nothing to do with morality

It's how you choose to see things. I don't care whether I sleep with someone on the first date or second or whatever... it really depends on who the person is. Sometimes it's actually quite comforting knowing you are never going to see the person again, and sometimes what you expect to become a one night stand actually turns into something more.

 

What I do dislike are 'rules for dating' such as 'don't have sex until the fourth date' or whatever. It makes no sense (i.e. why not the second, third or nth date?). Far better to go with the flow of things and see how you feel.

 

I feel no less respect for anyone who you sleep with on the first date (as I'm doing exactly the same). For me, I think I probably prefer getting the sex out of the way so that you can develop the relationship, but that's just a personal view.

 

However, the genuine one night stands (i.e. never seen again) have generally been pretty average sex.

I had a one night stand with someone but then it turned out to be a sexual relationship that was it, he would turn up in his car and i would sneak out when my other was asleep......i knew i was not happy in the relationship i was in. i met my now husband and stopped both relationship...it was fun and adrenalin rush but i could not carry it on forever.....yes i cheated on my ex...but no as i dumped him coz i knew i wanted to be with chris.....but i would not do it again as i am happy with what i got.

no it dont sound bad as that is what i did...really.....but i love the person i am with now...and married him
