CTW DJs LiamStyles Posted March 9, 2004 CTW DJs Share Posted March 9, 2004 So basically in theory this would make using say, reaktor just like using a hardware supernova? CTW Admin James Posted March 10, 2004 Author CTW Admin Share Posted March 10, 2004 yep it has many uses ... - for people who dont have enough computing power already - for people who want to be more 'mobile' - for people who prefer the hands-on hardware approach to nobs etc.. (me!, although i'm still evaluating decent controllers) I doubt I would get this, I'd rather update my pc (can do this for like £300 !) but if I ever went truly mobile and performed live (for arguments sake, I'm simply a hobbiest!) etc.. and didnt want to hog around a pc it could be useful - although I'd sooner take a high powered laptop... ..although I still wouldnt trust a laptop not to crash - whereas this baby is probably robust as fook ! they already have big names signing up to supporting it - like Native Instruments what i'm not sure/confused about though is how this 'generic' vst host could map to all the parameters required in the vst - for example something as complex/involved as Reaktor could surely not map all functions ??! I also dont know about the performance and how this maps to a 2/3gig P4HT - i will read the site now lol ! CTW Members ChrisT Posted March 10, 2004 CTW Members Share Posted March 10, 2004 Looks cool, like the fact that you can plug in a monitor etc, i was thinking that you needed a pc with it to untill i read it. It starts up instantly as well that could save alot of shit if you use it for PA's Think alot of people will go for this depending on the cost of it, does it say?
