CTW Members Phil rr Posted March 9, 2004 CTW Members Share Posted March 9, 2004 (edited) studio 33 - one of the most welcoming after parties i've been to! We chatted to the doormen (who were polite!), and made our way in. Seeing the Milk logo at studio 33 was familiar, although I'd never been to studio 33 before, and how nice is this venue!! it's lush! Very nice airy clean, 'plush' feel about it, but didn't feel "elite", just welcoming. Wasn't overly crowded, we didn't chat to too many randoms but everyone seemed friendly doing their thing with no attitude at all. This is a straight club, so there wasn't any 'alternative activities' going on. Was nice being in a club where everyone was just hanging around innocently (it seemed), enjoying the tunes. Entrance leads onto the dance floor where Dave Holmes was providing some fresh pvd style trance, we wondered upstairs onto the walkway/balcony area, into a nice quiet corner, with cclleeaann ccaarrppeettss, and some great cushioned settees. The 5 of us settled into sprawling out making the most of the comfyness Could happily hear the uplifting trance going on underneath. Every now and again I bee-lined for the dance floor when something came on. Probably about 30 people hanging in and around the dance floor, friendly vibe, with that slightly dazed but content after party feel. At one point ppl were definitely retiring from the dancefloor. I guess Dave noticed me with my vandit t shirt on, and heard the familiar bells of for an angel, so up i went, other ppl followed, it got going again Paid a visit to the hard room where D'Marr Ford was belting it out nicely, to some hard tech/trance/house sounds. After 20 mins the hoovers started taking over I gave my thumbs up and made my way back to the trance. Quick visit to the gents had some of the clubbers chatting to the guy in the loo's (the ones who takes care of the soap as they say "yes thankyou"). No one forced any Carex or calvin klein on me After Dave was done with his distinctly van Dyk sounding set, Shaun Rowland came up and took off with a slightly softer sound and kept it going nicely. After a few we decided to head off for a coffee and start the proceedings for Tasty. I'll look forward to more of the white stuff @ Studio 33 Edited March 9, 2004 by Phil rr
CTW Members Bunnykins Posted March 9, 2004 CTW Members Share Posted March 9, 2004 Good review Phil!
