CTW Moderators Maria Posted March 16, 2004 CTW Moderators Share Posted March 16, 2004 QUOTE (Ian Cashman @ Mar 12 2004, 00:25) technics... if you get used to vestax and ever play in a club you ll be fucked.. plus technics look mint whichever you choose Agreed Quote ClubTheWorld.com's OFFICIAL Events Reviewer
CTW Members LiquidEyes Posted March 16, 2004 CTW Members Share Posted March 16, 2004 Get Technics mk2s. I personally prefer the feel of my Vestax PDT-5000 (better torque, more accurate & responsive pitch controls, etc). I never thought they looked Fisher Price but point taken! They're sturdy as hell though - absolutely rock solid. But for the sake of having the industry standard decks, get mk2s. They're not that different from Vestax, but you might as well have the same decks as nearly every club in the country! I disagree that you're "fucked" when you play in a club. It only takes a short while to adjust to Technics. The main difference is the feel and response of the Technics pitch slider. My final comment is - don't bother with gimmicks, unless you're really sure you need them. I mean, being able to play your record backwards, or adjusting the pitch to +16, isn't exactly very useful for most people! (I know Mr Happy will disagree with me...) (I know Mr Happy will disagree with me...) on the contary - i totally agree with you they are toys at the end of the day - even the extended pitch range. i like the toys for pissing about on, but rarly use it (inc the extra pitch range). especially not when doing cds Quote Mr Happy's fishy fish MangaFish munch munch MSN & e-mail - mangafish@mangafish.net AOL - MangaMorgan Online mixes - http://www.mangafish.net/mixes/
