you dont need any of this popup blocker stuff...

 

go to Start - Control Panel - Performance and Maintence - Administrive Tools - Services - look for 'Messenger' on the list right click and go to properties - set the startup type to 'Disabled' and click the stop button - then apply - ok smile.gif sorted

 

Transmits net send and Alerter service messages between clients and servers. This service is not related to Windows Messenger. If this service is stopped, Alerter messages will not be transmitted. If this service is disabled.

start > run

type 'command' , a dos-like command prompt should open.

It should say something like this:

 

Microsoft Windows DOS

Copyright Microsoft Corporation 1990-2001.

 

C:\blah blah blah

 

then type:

 

net stop msg

 

 

that's it! theyre gone!

just found out this is responsible for a lot more of the popups i get on club the world

i had a reinstall recently and it was bugging me where the hell they were coming from....

 

i was getting no 'messenger service' pop ups, but loads from banks and 'internet security firm'

 

all gone now grin.gif

i suggest everyone does this

 

its got rid of all the popups that google never blocked yay.gif
