thats not what i asked,

yourself and @big_ee69 (although its mainly ee) are very big on this idea that CTW is not doing enough and needs improving, for it to improve James needs to know how it can improve, to which you have not given a specific answer. if you dont say then we/he wont know.

i was accused of jumping on said posts, but actually all i asked was there a point he was trying to get at, simple enough question and was expecting a simple enough answer (just liked i asked in the above question)...... i dont call that being jumped on, and thats when it all got defensive!

it's pretty clear that what he was trying to get at was that a huge amount of forum content is generated by a tiny proportion of active members and that maybe that's an issue worth investigating in the interests of the board.

 

if you don't call the reaction he received "getting jumped on" i think we might be reading different threads

why is it an issue? this is what iv been asking and not had an answer for.

 

the only way your gonna stop that is to restrict usage or have a post limit per day, or like iv already said earlier on in the post, stop us (the problem) from posting for a while and then see what happens, :shrugs:

that's a cheap shot and i think you know it. i've directed all my suggestions for improvements in the appropriate direction. there's simply no point regurgitating them here. james knows what i think and he's free to use or discard any suggestion i make. i'm as much a part of CTW as any current poster and i've done my fair share of brainstorming to help make improvements where i see a need.

i can't believe you need this spelled out but let's try a simply analogy. say you owned a gym with 2000 members but only 20 used it. you honestly don't think there's a problem there?

say the same gym attracted 20 new members a week who used the gym once but then never came back - you don't think that's in any way indicative of a problem? you think that's a sign of a facility which is working well?

i think you're deliberately making yourself out to be a martyr here and that's too bad. i think you need to look at it from another perspective (e.g. the bigger, non louise-centric picture).

the 'problem' as i see it isn't certain users making disproportionately large numbers of posts - it's what that implies... that other users are making disproportionately small numbers of posts (i.e one or none).

if large numbers of users register, make a handful of posts and then never participate again (in what is, i reiterate, perhaps the most accessible element of the CTW concept), you honestly think that's an issue which doesn't need thinking about?

you think that's a good approach for a community of any kind?
