Well i have heard that the prodge have a new album coming out, just wondering whether any one had heard if they are doing a tour or anything, as i would be the first pwerson to get a ticket for that as they are one of the groups i would love to see live!!!

only just seen this post! I've seen the Prodigy live at Reading a couple of times yrs ago - yeh they're wicked - twas them that got me into dance etc, was into US punk etc til then!

Sorry to dash your hopes, but I heard from a very reliable source that due to the negative response to the last single they have shelved the entire album and are starting again. Could be interesting to see what happens.

Agree totally, apart from the fact that they became punk, not rock, there are still some cool rock bands out there. Really just did not like Fat of the Land at all....actually, come to think of it, never even listened to it, as I didn't like the singles!!

Yup, with Blink and LMM on this one, Jilted Generation is one of the best albums of all time if you ask me, but Fat of the Land is OK, just not up to their usual standards.

Aft of the land has some awesome tracks onit. cant beet jilted generation tho. It is just such a unique an awesome sound to nearly every track without fail. Sweet!

Hopefully they will ditch this rock/metal shite and go back to there routes a bit and produce some stonking music!

Indeed, jilted generation is their best album by far i think. As much as i love rock and metal i would like to see them going back to their more dancier type stuff, unfortunately i don't really see that ahppening.

Liam H wanted to go back that way but i think the others didnt.

 

Clearly Leroy wasnt impressed cos he's left the group.

they definately put on a fantastic stage show! Probably the highest energy anything Ive seen live... even gigs that were 5X the size.

 

I just got a bootleg WL remix - Voodoo Lover 2002. Sltghtly re-worked voodoo people... and yess, unrelated bouncy vocal hardhouse on the flip ('lover').

 

I buy anything with prodigy on or in it... just out of habit really.

 

Perhaps they should do a new set of remixes for us ??? they might sell better than trying to re-invent themselves. (BK, Maddox...)

Interesting to hear about the fact Laim wanted to go back to there roots but the other did not. He basically is the prodigy anyway, Keith Flint is the typical Jonny Rottenesqe frfont man(Useless really). Always like Liams vocals better anyway. Leroy? Wasnt he just a dancer? Hardly end of the world when he left surely.

Well hopefully watch this space.

have just this post and thought i would reply. all my family are from braintree in essex, which is where the prodigy are from. my two uncles went to school with liam and have remained friends with them since. i havent heard any plans for shelving the next album. reviews for the last single 'babys got a temper' were pretty poor but that is something that has never bothered liam in the slightest so cant see that stopping the album. last i heard it was due for release in the summer to fit in with the festivals. liam is a perfectionist so delays to the album are usually down to him being unhappy with his own [censored]. he wrote 18 tracks for the fat album but only used 10, and believe me the other 8 were awesome. i have heard a few tracks from the new album and they are good but not much change in the sound, slightly more rockier. the title for the new album is ' always outnumbered never outgunned' as for liam being the one wanting to return to their old sound, definately not true. he was always the one pushing the sound foward. he tired of the dance sound very early, and hence the change in sound. made it easier for them to break into the u.s.a. he has even been quoated saying he hates house music and cant listen to it for more than five minutes! leeroy left the band becos he wanted to help produce some of the tracks for any future albums as he was tired of being labelled the lanky dancer. liam said no so he left to produce his own album under the name flightcrank.
