CTW DJs Freano Posted August 16, 2002 CTW DJs Share Posted August 16, 2002 Am go to see the man tonight i have decided down in Sunny Brighton at the Pussycat Club. Anyone seen him lately and know what kinda tunes he has been playing lately. DJ's move in styles and mood swings almost so i wanna know if it is trancy or progy at the mo! Cheers! Any feedback would be large thanks [ 16 August 2002, 12:04: Message edited by: James ]
CTW Reviewers Wub Wub Posted August 16, 2002 CTW Reviewers Share Posted August 16, 2002 This summer, Armin's been playing slightly more in a Corvin Dalek style of proggy trancey stuff, which is especially nice when he goes back-to-back with Mr Corsten. Van Buuren has been one of the few trance DJ's not to switch over to a harder style in the past year or so, and he's managed to keep it uplifting without sliding into cheesy territory. Quote Harder. CTW DJs Freano Posted August 16, 2002 Author CTW DJs Share Posted August 16, 2002 Good i need some vaguely uplifting house. ma fed up with seeing these DJ's play out really deep and dirty proggy style when they play out. Oliver Lieb was the biggest disapointment in histriy, great producer yet he made a 2 hour set sound like one continous durge. Oh well. Fingers crossed he will paly what the crowd thrives some uplifting tunes that will raise the roof!
CTW Reviewers Wub Wub Posted August 16, 2002 CTW Reviewers Share Posted August 16, 2002 Oliver Lieb? euck. I never forgave him for boring the crap out of me with some repetitive tech-trance a couple of years back. There are certain people who should stick to production, and he is one. But Van Buuren's been on fire this summer. He tore Homelands apart, and unleashed a cracking early set at GKGG. Elly's seen at him at Peach as well, and he apparently played his little heart out there. If you're a big fan of Van Buuren, then click here fine little album I picked up a couple of years back. CTW Members TidyTraxGrant Posted August 16, 2002 CTW Members Share Posted August 16, 2002 There's no doubting the mans ability one bit, but i was disappointed at GK, was proper deep n dirty prog stuff, unlike the AvB i'd heard many times before. Id bet my life on a progressive set, should still be wicked though Robin, he's a top DJ. CTW Admin James Posted August 16, 2002 CTW Admin Share Posted August 16, 2002 i dont know what is it about ibiza but both Burren and Pearce played SUPERBLY over there - totally different to anything I hear over in the UK - 'proper' trance. Didnt notice any progressive stuff at all - but then again I was 'twatted' Quote James@ClubTheWorld.uk CTW Admin | ClubTheWorld.uk | Twitter | Instagram Clubbing the world, together ... CTW DJs Freano Posted August 17, 2002 Author CTW DJs Share Posted August 17, 2002 Oh my god! AVB played an absolute blinder. He played out of skin, The most uplifting and at time slightly progy trance ever. The new remix of Paul Van Dyk - For an Angel went downa treat aswell as his own mix of Solar Stone - 7 Cities. SOmehow blagged our way into the DJ Box and shook his hand and said we would see him at Slinky next friday, which we will. But just to finsh the dabte on what he is playing at the moment... Bloody awesome trance , like it should be
CTW Members TidyTraxGrant Posted August 18, 2002 CTW Members Share Posted August 18, 2002 Quality stuff Robin, but why can't van Buuren always get deep, down and Trancey instead of this petty progressive stuff ! I know that when he does goin, he REALLY does get it upliftin \ euphoric. You lucky boy ! CTW DJs Freano Posted August 18, 2002 Author CTW DJs Share Posted August 18, 2002 Yeah i mean it did have a vaguley proggy feel to it to begin with, missed the 1st ten mins as was chatting away from the floor with muffled noise then released it spounder harder so we went back and there he was, but it was good proggy which was the strange thing and why it hadnt clicked who was on the decks! The best thing is ai am seeing him at Slinky this friday down in B'Mouth! Woo Hoo
