[ CTW ] - Another company wishing to film us in Ibiza ...

Still not sure about these kinds of things - call me paranoid. What are your thoughts ?

Hi James,

 

I'm writing from a TV company based in Birmingham called Maverick TV and we are currently filming in Ibiza for a 1 hr documentary which is based in Ibiza. The documentary is actually based on the main hospital on the island and looking at their work.

 

But as part of the documentary we are looking for young fun people ( male or

female) who are travelling from the UK to Ibiza within the next 2 weeks. We would like to follow them from here to Ibiza and see them generally having a good time.

Initially i'd say that it would be a good idea to have all you guys on film - would be something to tell the kids about when you're older, if nothing else. If you get the CTW t-shirts made up in time, it'll also be good, free advertisng

My worries are that you're all gonna be on TV, mashed outta your faces on smarties, or even worse,(perish the thought), actually end up in the hospital that they're filming. Would any of these images be good for the club scene? I don't know. I suppose it'll give a true reflection of what does go on when people go on clubbing holidays, but let's face it, would you like your family or your boss seeing you in whatever state you might get yourself into??

If you're all gonna go out there and be responsible, go clubbing, have fun, and stay clean - go for it, but remember, these programs have a reputation of painting a not so pretty picture sometimes.

This is what worries me and I dont know why but I have a gut feeling that there are some companies (I'm not saying this one) out there who are trying to put a bad image on clubbing as people are becoming more and more aware of the drug scene.

 

Call me paranoid but it isnt really worth the risk to me at the moment. I dont mind doing a few 'snippets' of us out being 'mad' in clubs etc.. but I'm personally not up for my work and family to see everything I talk about outside of clubbing too - most people think I'm mad and have a screw loose - I dont want some of this getting back as its personal stuff.

Additionally there is also the worry that it will make this site, and other clubbing sites look bad just because one member gets mashed up etc...

 

Disclaimer: As you know here at CTW we have an 'open mind' about the use of certain dr*gs in clubland and figure its far more important to accept that it goes on and provide members with as much valuable, FACT BASED, information as possible, rather than pretend the issue doesnt exist - leading to people going 'stupid' and playing 'who can get f*cked the most' - a very dangerous game.

Just think Ibiza Uncovered, what sells this sort of TV is young people getting drunk/munted/laid/beaten-up/arrested. There have been some sensible programs out, but I figure they took more than 2 weeks planning!!

It all seems a good laugh and a bit of fun seeing you and your mates on TV or whatever, but i know if it was me, i wouldnt wanna pay for a week or two weeks break, then have cameras and random people in your face half the time.

 

Also, as mentioned, its difficult to judge whether 'MaverickTV' are looking to film and portray club life, or simply making a documentary slating the mash-up that is clubbing !?

 

Just seems a bit dodgy.
