Ive not heard any of this but its mad! If theyre stamping down on this rule to eliminate the usage of E and such, they should maybe think about other people who get dehydryated (spelt right?) and dont take drugs. I dont take drugs but Ive got ashthma and epilepsy and I have to take plenty of water because when my body temperature hits a high I pass out. So to NOT sell water or have a chill out area is.. well, wrong. Call me a facist for thinking that my opinion is right and whoever thinks that Im wrong are wrong, I dont care. [/RANT OVER]

I have a reputation for waffling on and not making my point. Prime example there! [Crazy][Roll Eyes]

well, i've not heard of that. sounds like a rumour...

that said, the government is going crazy here as part of the (unwinnable/already lost) war on drugs. eg:

Thats like taking away human rights \ respects surely ?

Almost like saying - your not allowed to sell alcohol in a pub.

Thats pathetic, you can't rest or drink water.

Expect a lot of ill people, surely ?

i've read something about this kinda legislation before. it said in one of the US states they were trying to make the possesion of a glowstick illegal! they said that possesion of a glowstick was an indicator that the person used drugs. 'only in america' is all i can say.

getting rid of bottled water and chill-out areas is stupid! it won't stop drugs being used and only result in people trying to enjoy themselves being seriously ill or dying. in the case of pills, very rarely is it the drug that kills, its normally overheating through dancing or having too much/little water.

the person who thought this up needs beating within an inch of their life, that way they'll know what it'll be like for some poor clubber who keels over cos of their stupid new law.

grrrrrrr, rant over [Well Happy]

Some people (myself included) believe that by getting rid of bottled water and chill out areas, the government in America are trying to INCREASE the number of drug related deaths, thus giving them a reason to shut down 'raves' for good.

while the government's targeting of dance music events is a concern, who says they are getting rid of water and chill space at events?

that's hard to answer objectively. i live in san francisco so all my opinion applies here.

most people would agree that LA, New York, Miami, Detroit and San Francisco are probably the main centers of attraction for electronic music. however, i'm sure there are people who would question that list.

you could do some background reading here:

http://www.hyperreal.org/raves/

(don't be put off by the word 'rave' - it tends to be used in a more general sense here)

well, obviously i wouldn't know anything about that but reading on the internet tells me that its availability is widespread and it's likely to be a little more expensive than you are used to paying. i read that people in san francisco pay around $20 in small volumes.

sure. i'm mostly into psychedelic trance (there is a great psytrance scene in san francisco). i have lots of opportunities to attend indoor and outdoor events. living in california, the locations of some of these outdoor events are nothing short of breathtaking.

if you are planning to travel after the summer next year, you should give some thought to attending Burning Man:

this year will be my 4th year of attending and it's... hard to explain [Happy]

here's an interesting perspective on the RAVE Act from an interesting guy (director of the movie 'Groove'):
