need some advice

i've slowly been working on creating myself a portfolio site, and i mean at a slow pace, lol. anyway i've set my site in this background. My little git of a brother says it don't go, i think it does. what you think?

 

also the the only thing work on the site is the menu effects on roll over and roll out.

 

But i'm on the case now, thanks to gettin the bloody font sorted out.

 

Also didn't know where to post this as i'm not promiting just askin for advice.

Personally I think you could do with a bit more colour!!

Needs more colour and could do with being bigger - my eyesight isn't too bad but i did have a bit of trouble reading it. Apart from that, it looks ok

you know all the points your saying is part of why i've done, it's a minimalist site. So colour isn't going to be done as i'm working on the grey scale and using orange to add sharp blasts. This moves the users eyes towards that point. The font is small because it's pixel font. Pixel font was used because of the style i'm going for.

 

As it will be a portfolio site it will be more the designer/programmer than useability.

From the minimalist perspective, I'm with you Scream. I think it's simple and sharp, all in one!!

 

In terms of needing more colour etc, it would depend on what the site was trying to sell. If you want your site to be more memorable (ie etched into yur brain) then you use lotsa reds and bright things etc, but with what you're going for, again I think it works!

 

Can't wait to see the final product !

i think it looks great. it's very now. if you're looking to demonstrate the code anywhere then could i suggest you add some comments to it. then you can tell the potential employer how maintainable the site is by you or another programmer.

 

it also works on both mac and pc in ie. not looked at it in netscape.
