I was a weeeee bit nervous coming along as I didn't know anyone and didn't know that 'Billy Gonzalez' was someone I do actually know lol but I felt comfortable as soon as I walked in the venue. The remnants of my vocal cords were destroyed after last night, but I could've easily danced for much longer... then again it would've affected my productivity at work today Was really good seeing you and James again. Sorry I couldnt get as much into it as most - i'd had a really busy week/day but was thoroughly enjoying the music - but also had to leave mega early Was wicked to see all BG's set and a good sample of Jules' though ! CTW DJs Billy Gonzalez Posted April 5, 2004 Author CTW DJs Share Posted April 5, 2004 Here's a few words from Jules I found from his web-site: "On Thursday March 18th I did what can best be described as a 'Twilight Zone' gig. A return to the University I graduated from almost fifteen years ago, the LSE in London. I've been back on a couple of occasions in alumni mode, recently having given a speech to their Music business society, and having formally opened their student radio station six months earlier. But dj'ing there was the full deal when it comes to surreal voyages back into your past. When I was there, LSE never had a great social life for 18 year old UK undergraduates like myself, nor were its Student Union facilities up to much. On Thursday I heard a few grumbles from the many faces I met that the only compensation for lack of social life is still the huge amount that London in general has to offer. As regards student facilities, these have clearly come on leaps and bounds. 'The Quad' where I played my set, is an excellent club and live band arena. The only disconcerting factor was that the dj booth is fully enclosed within a wire cage, making me feel like a zoo exhibit, although everyone there was super-friendly. Despite one or two problems with the equipment, a good night was had by all. I'd waived my fee completely for this Cancer Research fundraiser- my Mum died of cancer during my first year at the LSE, so it was all the more poignant."
