Should some drugs be legalised or decriminalised? Or should they all be legalised/decriminalised?

Does anyone have an opinion on this?

I think drugs should be made legal and then very strictly controlled in terms of quality so people don't die etc... I think the attitude of clubs now that there is less prevention but more preventing casualties is a lot more mature. At the end of the day you are never going to stop people doing drugs if they really want to. Having said that I think they are pointless and if you have to take drugs to have a good time then what does that say about you?

Well it depends what drugs you mean I gather. We all no doubt agree marjuana's pretty tame, its on its way anyway, but what about the big stuff?

I doubt anyone wants to see heroin or crack et al freely avaliable,I certainley don't,there's enough smack heads round here as it is.You have to remember that some people are more impressionable than others etc. So say for instance heroin was legalized in one way or other, than perhaps,(cliche alert)our generation would still recognise the dangers and stigma attached and avoid it like the plauge, but what about in 5-10 years time? Then the attitude towards it may be no more different than we have towards smoking today.Personally Id hate to think that any kids I have should grow up in that kinda environment.

Personally Id keep all drugs illegal, even our little fave's,I mean drugs are easy enough to get if you really want them anyway.I belive they tried a similar experiment in switzerland a while back which failed miserabley.

I realise I may sound hypocritical, but I think you have to consider the wider implications of any policy's on the subject. Is not a question of yes or no,but in what context and how its controlled.

Havin said all that Im still gonna get twatted at the weekend!

Ive always said that i reckon all drugs should be made legal for a few reasons

1 : Old bill could do summit more useful with there time for a change in there life instead of huntin down 13YR olds smokin puff or whatever else pointless .

2 : Anyone who abuses it will learn a lesson the hard way .

One of the arguements towards legalising drugs has to be that it will reduce the crime rate. If the whole lot was available legally it will cut out the 'Mafia' style warfare, especially if the price of getting it say in chemists was cheape than a dealer could sell it for.

I have no issue with people wishing to accelerate their pleasures from doing drugs, but when doing drugs becomes a necessity for going out and people dont come at the last minute because their dealer let them down or whatever, thats when i think its a bit sad.

As you say though, there will always be people wo will abuse the laws or rights, and thats what makes it a bit non pheasable
