I guess this might be very selfish of me to say this but I don't want to be around to see this happen to her (if it eventualy does), but then I am a mate and now im really not sure wether I should stay being involved with her or to just not contact her as much. I couldn't handle all that in my hands, it would shatter me :s So therefore, I don;t know what I should do from this day forward :s but either way, it is none of my business

 

Must have been hell for you Ian to go through all that. I know for one, I will never touch it. Although I am glad you have turned out a better person at the end of it. A good bloke and a friend like you doesn't deserve a "fuck up" in life.

maria as for your mate i would ring social services up mate or no mate...you got to think of the child, a mother myself i would not want my kids being in an abusive environment and especially taking heroin....

 

think of the child....coz it could get to a time where its too late!!!!

It was like reading a day to day week to week account of my last boyfriends life, I believed all the lies and the excuses believing fully that he'd kicked the habit and hadn't done any for over 3 years previous, I didn't know that all the times he was ill was due to this or the 'trips' he'd take into town (never to have bought anything back) were to score.

 

But the thoughtful soul thought we'd go away for a weekend together and tell me all this as it would enhance our relationship, make us stronger.

 

 

It's the smell i'll never forget.

 

 

 

 

Maria ... hard as it maybe for you ... don't get involved ... if you feel the child is in danger or will be harmed or neglected tell social services, likes been said you won't change them no matter how many times you sit there and be a shoulder for them.

Holy shit. Ian that must have taken some guts to write that. I had goosebumps after reading that story. That is the exact reason i never have wanted to try it, because i know if i like it, i'll get into that situation.

firstly, i feel sorry for the girl Maria. she is smoking away her life (and possibly the childs' life that she is carrying) and the other child is being totally messed up inside because she is seeing her mum slowly "slipping away" from her.

 

I felt the same way to my ex-girlfriend in Liverpool (she will be nameless for legal reasons) because she has a 6 year old son who is mine. While i was with her she used to smoke heroin ( and cannabis ) quite a lot...... very bad as it nearly destroyed her relationship with her son and her own family.

 

 

Your friend needs all the help she can get, either from you or from your mother (that's if she wants any help because some people will say they can stop it themselves, but they can't) or from any other good friends that she has.

 

about the child: the poor child is being subjected mentally to her mother abusing herself in this way (and god forbid if the child ever started smoking anything, let alone started smoking heroin!!!) the only way (if your friend won't give up smoking) is to ask Social Services to intervene and maybe that way will startled your friend into stopping with the heroin HOPEFULLY FOR GOOD!

 

 

the boyfrend that's in and out of jail sounds like two planks short of a tree!

in the end if he's goadng her on to smoke all the time, he's liable to be stod against a wall and shot!

Wow Ian, I've just read your post and was totally moved and taken away. Well done for talking about it, it must be hard to think about those times but I'm guessing a feeling of proudness that you managed to sort yourself out on your own.

I see where you are coming from Bushy, but I seen my mother get walked over and treated like a bit of shit when my oldest brother had a real dope problem years ago. He sold anything he could get his hands on, includin gmy #500 musical instrament that I played when I was in school, my fathers dead fathers tools that he left my dad, my mothers jewelry.. the list is endless...

 

There is no way im putting myself through being on the recieving end of that. I really don't want her (or anyone for that matter) knocking on my front door for this and that. I think her dad is aware of her habbit as her boyfriend told him when she finished with him (although they are back together now).

 

Although I don't think her dad has gotten involved or anything :S
