hello everybody

hello everyone

you all seem so friendly. it makes a change to meet people who don't have planet sized egos.

 

i thought i'd put up a brief biog to help people get to know me so here goes.

 

34 years old so well past it.

 

childhood in s. yorks and also travelling with parents.

 

got into house music at school.

 

studied fine art in hull in late 80s. heard about spiral tribe/acid house/warehouse parties/hacienda and started djing acid house in 1988.

 

moved to manchester and started djing at squat parties in Hulme from '89 till they died out.

 

got fed up with having no money so learned to write computer programs and got a decent job. made techno, hard house, house and trance in my spare time.

 

thats it. I still paint, make music and DJ when I get the chance... and now i'm looking forward to meeting everyone here.

welcome shroomz, you're right - we are all nice people here, and there's more and more of us all that time, I only joined a matter of months ago at member number 130 (or somewhere round there) and now we are over 300!

 

dont be too miffed if not all of us reply to your post, because the forum is getting pretty hectic, its hard to keep up with all of them!

I might be able to help with development support if it is because I'm also an Oracle/C/Unix developer (only a bit of perl and php though).

 

I'll try and send some emails to thank people for the shouts if i get time over the weekend.

This site isnt DB driven - the new one is MySQL. May do Oracle at some stage but not really necessary / far too expensive for a licence.
