FRANTIC'S 5th BIRTHDAY @ HARD HOUSE ACADEMY, 10th AUGUST 2002

By Tony. P and Little Miss Loud.

Arriving at the Brixton Academy just before the clock struck one, we joined the queue for the guest list. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Creamy C (Kevin from Club the World) was unable to attend, and Little Miss Loud stepped in to cover his absence. However, Mr Clipboard was concerned that Creamy C was sporting lipstick and pigtails!

After convincing Mr Clipboard that Creamy C had undergone a sex change that afternoon, we entered the at the back of the Main Stage, where we were greeted by a sea of clubbers enjoying the remains of Spencer Freeland's s! et. Cortina's "Higher" was blasting out of the immense sound system and engulfed the pair of us into the electric atmosphere.

The Tidy Boys stepped up next and treated the crowd to an hour and a quarter of Tidy madness. As usual, the Tidy Boys proved why they are the ultimate crowd pleasers, with Andy Pickles jumping round like a man possessed with ants in his pants!!

Leaving the Main Stage, we entered the Foyer, where BK was midway through his set, and dropping new tunes and old classics such as Tony de Vit's "Are You All Ready?" whipping the Foyer crowd into a frenzy.

Back in the Main Stage, whilst waiting at the bar for some liquid refreshment, a fellow Club the World member was spotted modelling the latest in glow stick fashion- this of course was Wub_Wub!

Wub_Wub then lead us to the Funky room, where we were greeted by more Club the World members, who were getting down to the sounds of the Ignition Crew, who believe us, are definitely not to ! be missed. The Funky room was a welcome change, and complimented the boshing antics of the other arenas.

Elsewhere in the venue, Paul Glazby was rocking the Foyer with his unique hard sound and K90 was tearing up the main stage with anthems such as his own mix of Praga Khan's "Injected With a Poison".

The Grand Finale in the Main Stage was played by the one and only Andy Farley, who true to form, played a blinder, whilst half an hour into Mr Farley's performance, Nukleuz prodigy Nick Sentience was bringing the Foyer to a close, treating the crowd to anthems such as Steve Morley's "Reincarnations", which ended our exceptionally enjoyable night in the best possible way.

Upon leaving the venue, we discovered that our chauffer driven limousine had mysteriously turned onto a beaten down and over priced Brixton cab, which goes to show you can't have it all!

Overall, we have given this event a Club the World score of 9/10.

Happy Birthday Frantic, we c! an't wait for next year!!
