CTW Members LiquidEyes Posted March 22, 2004 CTW Members Share Posted March 22, 2004 Some comments on your production: * The kick sounds a bit lightweight compared with your bass. * The hihats are very lightweight (they sound like they've been HP filtered). It would nice to hear a bit more midrange in them. It would be great to hear some more interesting percussion. Basically it's just a kick+hihats+snare at the moment. It would be nice to hear some other drums, and maybe put a bit more "shuffle" in the rhythm. Haven't really got much else to say: the tune sounds very very derivative to me. It is rhythmically interesting in places, but nearly all the sounds are dated (hoovers, those "old skool" chord stabs, etc etc). My honest opinion is "heard it all before" but then I've heard a lot of hard house (too much!) Hope the production comments are useful. You obviously have some skills there, just try to be a bit more original!
CTW Members ChrisT Posted March 22, 2004 Author CTW Members Share Posted March 22, 2004 Thanks for your comments, its really appreciated The tune was ment to sound 'old skool' so to speak so im glad you picked up on that.. CTW Members Mr Happy Posted March 22, 2004 CTW Members Share Posted March 22, 2004 to be honnest, its a very avarage tune that will just blend into hundreds of other tunes by hopeful producers. you're years ahead of me in production skill so cant really comment or fault that. but i did think the ideas behind the track are a little lacking. this is probably something that would make a great b side to a memorable a side track.
