Ranolph Finnes, when he walked to the south pole, was eating 4-5lb!!s of butter a day, + a little soup and dry biscuit for variety, and lost about 3 stone, during the trip

 

I think u will find that is similar to the 'Atkins' Diet where you have to eat a lot of fat & protein & very little carbs. The body burns the glycerol as its fuel reserves first.

Why not go on the celery diet.

 

Breakfast - celery on a slice on wholemeal toast / bread no butter or marge

Snack - stick of celery

Lunch - A celery shake

Snack - Stick of celery

Dinner - Celery salad (no dressing)

 

Just watch the weight fall off. laugh.gif

I tried a soup diet, just havin tomato soup ie instead of cabbage soup cos i didnt wana end up smelling of cabbage laugh.gif

the atkins diet is extremely hard [censored] - u feel like crap cos of the lack of carbs & you skin goes really greasy cos of all the fat!

Hmm prolly true, but young Ranolph was buring 9000-10000 calories per day walking to the south ploe,due to the extreme cold, and massive amount of exercise he was doing....

 

Need to find me a diet that works tho!!

 

Claire as it's u i'll let u into a secret, NO DIETS [censored] ever!!!None...It's all complete bollocks. Weight Watcher's, Rosemary Conlley, This plan, That plan, three bags full Plan..it's all a myth, and a handy way of parting you with your money.

 

Here is why.

 

When u go on a diet, your bod thinks there is a famine, like when we were on the planes 30,000 years ago and it shuts things down. Slows the metabolism, and goes into panic mode. It uses excess body fat to fill the gap between what u eat and what u need, and so u lose fat on temporary basis. But the MOMENT, u start eating more it thinks the famine is over, happy times are here again, and replaces all the lost fat, and some. Against the day, when you settle down in your cave, and start to have lot's of baby's. Who need you to be fat so you can produce lot's of milk and keep them alive. So u end up fatter than u were.

 

Arnold Swarteznegger, Hunter From Gladiators, and Sly Stalone, at the peak of their fitness, were classifiable as clincally obese. Cos they all had a BMI of over 30, and weighed a great deal more tham all the weight to height tables said they should. They ate shed loads of food!!.

 

Would u say these people were overwight, No. Overfat. No.

Very muscular. Yes. Muscle weighs a great deal more than fat.

 

Ranolph, Above ate 9000 calories or 3-4 times what a normal person eats, a day and still lost weight.

 

So the only way u can lose body fat permanatly, is to use more calories day than you need, whilst doing a good amount of aerobic, and a good amount of resitance (weight training type) excercise.

 

The aerobic excercise will raise you daily calorie requirement's and the resistance will tone your muscles and also mean they need more calories. The body thinks you have just taken up hunting, or farming, instead of baby making, and makes you fitter stonger, and more able to sustain a lower body fat %.

 

This applies to both women and men. But the downside for guy's is that women who get moderatly excess fat are better at making babies. Men who get excess fat just die younger.
