CTW Members tommy Posted January 28, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted January 28, 2003 I'm off to some Roland road show Mcjobby tonight, and I'm thinking of getting an SP505. This would mean that I can take samples off records/comp and have them ready to play at any point in a mix. And you can piss about with effects on the samples and the tunes your playing Just wondered if ne1 else used one, and how helpful they found it. CTW Members Mr Happy Posted January 28, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted January 28, 2003 i have a basic 12 second or sumthin like that sampler on my mixer. tis nuffin spesh but u can change the speed and the vol and loop or 1 shot the samples so its more than enuf 4 me i do use it, tis good fun n all, but i oftern find if just as easy to play the sample direct from the record rather than sample it then play it Quote Mr Happy's fishy fish MangaFish munch munch MSN & e-mail - mangafish@mangafish.net AOL - MangaMorgan Online mixes - http://www.mangafish.net/mixes/
CTW Members tommy Posted January 28, 2003 Author CTW Members Share Posted January 28, 2003 Fair enough. Just got back from this Roland show thing and they had an sp303 for £200 which looked quite tasty, but I really want an sp505 cause you can make tunes on it aswell with the samples youv'e put in I'd love to do what Fatboy did at BBB1 when her played a sample of Born Slippy, then brought in Right Here, then cut across to this really funky beat. You got a pioneer mixer?
CTW Reviewers Wub Wub Posted January 29, 2003 CTW Reviewers Share Posted January 29, 2003 That Roland show did have a slight Alan Partridge feel to it. Like when the welsh bloke with the mullet started singing Backstreet Boys songs. Quote Harder. Faster. Better. Stronger. Badder. Smarter. CTW Members tommy Posted January 29, 2003 Author CTW Members Share Posted January 29, 2003 Wub: ooooh, I want one of those d2's. CTW Reviewers Wub Wub Posted February 1, 2003 CTW Reviewers Share Posted February 1, 2003 The snare drum roll feature was fun though. For a bit. Quote Harder. Faster. Better. Stronger. Badder. Smarter. Wub Wub
