Ibiza- Peak over Poo!

OK guys, I know the majority of you want to go Ibiza in the month of september and for this reason I want to give you some warnings. I've been in both July and September and I can say that July was 10 times better for various reasons which I will explain here:

The Island was very quiet in september, "good" you may think, "less families" but I found that this wasn't the case. The crowd that were there tended to be groups of lager louts and crowdwise it was a night mare.

Clubs were filling up with pissheads, at 3am they'd all filtered out and clubs were left pretty much empty. The idea of closing parties sounds great but they are only a ploy to get people into the clubs when intake is low.

Another issue which some may find a problem is that the quality of "sweeties" in september. They were awful compared to July and even the dealers admitted the quality was down as they were running out.

I am fully aware that it costs less to go in September but personally I would rather go peak, pay more and have a good holiday............not that I didn't enjoy it in september last year, just july was 10 times better!

This post is NOT so I can try and change everyones opinions to fit in with me, I simply want to make sure everyone is aware of the differences!

I have to admit that Tara IS actually right about the peak season being 10x better than the 'closing parties' season. I went twice last year, once for a weekend in July which was incredible and once for 2 weeks in Sept which was no way as good.

We DO have to go when the majority of people can afford to go or get time off [censored]/college/uni/whatever and I guess the most important thing is to get as many of us out there as possible.

I do think its important that Tara brings this up though as those who have never been, or only been for closing parties wont realise what they are missing out on in the earlier month - the whole place is buzzing that much more, but yes, of course its more expensive and queues to clubs are far worse etc..

I may well try going twice myself this again but it all depends on spends.

It does look like the sept. dates are becoming more and more popular, and also i think the idea of the later dates were to give people longer for saving and to be able to go on other personal holidays first.

Thanks for pointing this important point out though Tara - people need to be told the truth. Personally i've never found the fact its a 'closing party' a club to be any better than any other night out there - if anything its more dead and full of beer boys, like last year.

There is a big difference between Sept + July, and it's down to personal taste which you prefer obviously.

I prefer Sept and heres why:

1. Quality DJ sets pulling out the best mixes with the tunes they have gathered over the summer.

2. Not too hot...July/August is just too hot sometimes to party.

3. All the worker's have finished working for the season and are ready for the ultimate shindig, giving a superb atmosphere.

4. No stoopid queues to get in anywhere and if the night is worth it's salt it won't be empty.

Yes if you hang about within a 2 mile radius of San An there is a high percentage of late deal beer boy + gals in Sept, but elsewhere at the right time, it's rockin' (Pacha, Space etc.)

Last year was also an exception (this year could be the same) when July was very similar to Sept. of previous years.

But it's all a matter of choice! thumbs.gif

I think the best time to go is the first two weeks of august its when radio 1 is over there.

True the DJ's are pulling out better Tunes that they have got in the summer but if your a DJ your job is to excite the crowd which means if you have the tunes in your box your going to bring the house down no matter what month/day/time it is.

but fair play to you if you like september
