I was just saying the other day, that there are not enough techno nights posted on here and then whey, hey.....

This is gonna be awesome! :notworthy:

Richie Hawtin brings his Minus party to London’s The End, Saturday April 12, for the third time. The Detroit techno bigwig will play a 6-hour set incorporating his trademark FX and technical wizardry in the main room. Label mate, DJ Madga - one of Detroit's most talented female DJs - will join him on the night.

michaela have you seen Richie Hawtin before?

He is [censored] amazing, at least for the fact that the crowd is so hyped up beforehand that there can't fail to be a good atmosphere. Wish I was in London.

there aren't enough techno nights posted here, you're right, but tbh the majority of ppl on CTW are into HH. but you've inspired me - i'm posting details of a techno night I'm going to this friday in edinburgh if anyone's nearby.

Aah haa! The ever fun filled, Tom D - I rated you 4 stars by the way (one upon a time in the long distant past) star.gif

Hello!

Haven't seen Richie Hawtin before but this is going to be a great intoduction. Glad to see someone else who shares my taste for a change. Shame no-one else has posted....

I shall not be moved - hard house will never poison thy mind!

cheers michaela. mwah smile.gif

You're in for a proper treat with Richie. I saw him up here easter last year; he was on the same bill as Luke Slater (the two were playing on different floors of the same building, one ticket). Imagine a [comparatively] tiny intimate 300-capacity room with Richie going for it at the front on Final Scratch, folk dancing like mad fools on-stage, cheers all the time, people dancing everywhere, totally loving the tunes and the heat was intense. The room got full very quickly to the point where they simply couldn't allow any more folk in there, so if you were stuck downstairs seeing Luke Slater, you couldn't get up to the floor Richie was playing on! Literally, 1-in, 1-out. I feel sorry for the folk that paid their money and just couldn't get to see him. frown.gif

A most amazing night though - it makes me shiver now just thinking about it! The fact it was such a small room rather than some big warehouse type affair just made it electric.

And he finished with Slam's mix of SLS's "Merengue" which will always stick in my head. Brilliant, brilliant night!!

btw if you love your techno, have you been to Fabric Saturdays? i went there for the first time last month, oh my god, I was blown away, what an amazing club (saw DJ C1 and Bryan Zentz along with Lee Burridge and Craig Richards). Definitely going back there VERY soon, once I save up some cash, as it's worth the 5-hour train journey...

anyway i'll shut up now!!

All sounds good! Would be really good to get loads of the CTW crew to a techno night and show them some decent music! shocked.gifgrin.gifwiggle.gifspliff.gif

Wub's just phoned me, all excited about Homelands, the techno lineup looks pretty good for that: jeff mills, dave clarke and green velvet and others i can't remember!

Wow yey! I am so definitely absolutely going. whatever else I may have had planned. Richie Hawtin is AMAZING! and I never seem to find any good techno nights. I've not been clubbing long by the way so if anyone knows of any good nights in the bham/coventry area I'd be most grateful for recommendations smile.gif Hard house can be good, but it doesn't compare to techno. Also psychedelic trance. Anyone?

Oh, I forgot - should have introduced myself properly at the beginning. Xenny; Pleased to meet you wavey.gif

Too far gone

Tom D - Have been to Fabric once and although it's an amazing club in terms of design etc, the music didn't really didn't do it for me. Suppose it depends on the night 'though.

Glad to hear you're going to Glasto Mr Happy. Yay!
