nope, but Glazby is the nads & the cd is wicked, so what if it is all Glazby, Tony has just done a cd totally mixed of Karim, is that crap then???

i'm inclined to agree with jimmy here tho

 

the cd maybe mixed amazingly, but if the tunes are unimagative then imo the cd counts for shit

 

but then i've always gone against the grain in hardhouse terms so my opinion doesnt really count

thought the mixing was good but to use the same tune twice on two occasions with bombstyle and mercy ruined the mix...its bad enough hearing the same tunes played by different djs during the night but the same tunes in the same mix???

I thought the point of a mix/demo CD was to demonstrate ones mixing skills ?

 

I'd love a copy please mate.

its not a case of being miserable lisa, im offering my thoughts on a cd ive been given. when i heard bombstyle for the second time i had to fight stopping the cd but then when mercy came on again i did turn the cd off as i had lost interest.

 

james, a demo cd does not just show your mixing abilities, it says everything about you as a dj. your choice of tunes, how you put them together, how you build your set.

 

djing is more than just mixing tunes!

yes, agreed.

 

I suppose my main point here was that people shouldnt comment on someones CD at all until they've bothered to listen to it.

 

As with event suggestions people shouldnt post 'its shite' if they have no intention of ever going to the event. i.e. contructive feedback only.

 

If I posted info on my latest demo and people only replied with negative stuff - when they hadnt even heard it - then I would be put off from ever bothering to post again, plus it also unfairly puts others off.

 

I'm not talking about you here BTW Phil as you have actually listened to it.

i dont need to listen to a cd to know that the track selection lacked imagination. thats what the tracklistings there for.

 

i also did point out that i wasnt knocking his mixing skills. (as i've obviously not heard it)

 

at the end of the day, 1st impressions count, and if he sent that demo off, the 1st thing people in the industry do is check out the track listings, as there are sooo many cd's out there with the same few records on it.
