CTW Admin James Posted March 30, 2003 CTW Admin Share Posted March 30, 2003 Ok, I'm not being funny (ok, you may think I am) BUT have any of you lot tried to mix speeded up funky (45, -6) along with hardhouse ? I SWEAR some of the funky tunes sounds sooooooooo much like hardhouse and are WICKED (i will try and make a list of my faivs). Luckily my house mate is into buying shed load of funky vinyl and i accidentally put some of his tracks on 45 and they were SPOT ON. Also, because all that sound is even more compressed it sounds crystal. I then met a bloke last night - friend of sarahs who just happended to be into the same thing - mixing speeded up funky house with hardhouse - he even had a minidisc on him with some tunes on he showed me - was fooking wicked - some really cool hardhouse 'knocking' baselines you can create out of speed-funky - i swear - i aint mucking you around. I am DEFFO creating a CD asap of what i'm talking about (when i've got to a slightly better mixing level) and I will send out. "Speed Funky" (but serious! ) Quote James@ClubTheWorld.uk CTW Admin | ClubTheWorld.uk | Twitter | Instagram Clubbing the world, together ... CTW DJs Guyster Posted March 31, 2003 CTW DJs Share Posted March 31, 2003 If it was meant to be that fast, it'd be 140bpm at pitch 0 Quote WiLDCHiLD - where spacehoppers and pom poms rule
CTW Members Mr Happy Posted March 31, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted March 31, 2003 2 points: 1stly - its not a new genre as 4 it to be a new genre it would have to be a new style, sound and so forth. this is just an old genre played faster. 2ndly - its whats played @ convergance as the opening sets Quote Mr Happy's fishy fish MangaFish munch munch MSN & e-mail - mangafish@mangafish.net AOL - MangaMorgan Online mixes - http://www.mangafish.net/mixes/
CTW Members oddball Posted March 31, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted March 31, 2003 is this not like speed garage, ie. US garage tunes played at a higher speed to make them sound different Quote -------------------------------------------------- i have 104 friends
