[ Site News ] - Fixed ClubTheWorld Mailing List ...

Since moving to the new web server our CTW mailing list had stopped working. I've now got round to finally fixing this - I actually had to rebuild the entire list of 880 subscribers manually due to some corruption which took place on the migration. Anyway its sorted now so I hope to be sending out Newsletters again - although we promise not to bombard you with junk mail !

some one from the site keeps sending me junk mail (flyers etc), which i don't really want as it fills up my inbox to quickly and is scrubbing out my mail which i need saving .

same here tone - in the end I had to go and fork out £40 on some anti-spam software - but its still bloody slow getting to all my real emails I'm hoping one day there will be firm laws against spam!

I don't mind Spam as it goes into my junkmail box, it's just that this stuff is sent on my TonyP@clubtheworld.uk address so it goes straight into my inbox. Never mind.

my biggest problem is email bots - they go around the net looking for emails in web page, such as the 'contact us' link at the bottom of this forum and on the 'about us' pages - and then sign you up to 1000s of newsletters you dont want. if you try to click un-subscribe this normally just confirms your email is alive & active and then you are put on even MORE lists - so dont ever un-subscribe! To get round it i'm going to encrypt the emails on the web pages. Yours will be picked up too if its in your signature i think.

Reply back to the email.. cos there outgoing servers, they hate incoming, and u can topple the server!
