that's if christ even existed, and anyways that's beside the point seeing as the film was made for the mainly for the masses in america and the rest of the western world where english still si the most common language.

I thikh, he was just trying to make the film as close to how it would have been then, real or not, hence using the old language that they used back then, possibly
