If I have bought anything by Sony, then that has been my choice. There is no way you can justify stealing from an organisation. Two wrongs don't make a right. All I would be doing by stealing, would be bringing myself down to their level.

Shame on you Laurence.

Well said that man. When I get the funds, I wil purchase the trial software I am using. If people don't pay for software, new stuff doesn't get written. If people don't pay for music, artists can't afford to write new stuff.

Next thing you know, no-one will be paying to go into clubs, they will all be sneaking in through the toilet windows.

When tools such as SoundForge are this good they should be bought - if you want to see the products continue to develop well they will only do so with funding !

There was that company that went bust the other day which was all down to pirating.

I tend to 'evaluate' all products and then when i've decided upon the one I'm actually going to use day in day out I go and purchase it - especially as you get a hardcopy manual, sample CDs etc..

Can someone tell me the best tool for setting track marks on one big .wav file - so i can then put them straight to CD with no pauses between songs ? I know this is in another post somewhere!

James,

Yo dude !

Easiest way to split without breaks on a wav file :

record your mix as wav (yes sound forge 6 is the nuts)

create audio cd in nero 5.5

click properties in the left hand window (of the wav of course)

select 0 instead of 2 for track break

then click the splits tab

wait a while for your pc to show the wav in display form

click split button at appropriate places

click ok

Are you sure;;;; Yes.

Hey presto, one wav file (original untouched) split into tracks by nero - with no break providing you click "disc at once"

it'll force you to put a 2 second gap on the 1st track but, hey, thats unavoidable.

SAVE IT

job done. beerchug.gif
