forums gone??

where and why have some of the forums gone???

 

topics seem to be getting deleted all the time and now no health and fitness forum? pervious posts that have been deleted could have been used in referance for some people searching thru.

 

why just decide to take some of the stuff away and leave others?

 

i admit i hardly ever look in most of the forums and i dont think i have ever even looked in most of the ones titled 'music' or 'clubtheworld.uk' .

 

dont get me wrong i liked this site ... thats why i joined. i used to be checking the forums most of the day, but recently i feel as tho everything has gone dry and dull with too many attitudes.

 

i dont know how other people feel, but i hope you dont mind me saying how i feel.

well then perhaps someone would be kind enough to forward or send me the emails directly ? I cant improve things if I'm not aware of any problems.

 

By the way - CTW should not be judged on its forums - after a LOT of dicussion with people from this board and OTHER boards its CLEAR that you CANT stop people posting rubbish, you CANT moderate everything and at the end of the day this is 'just' a message board for people to communicate with and get to know each other. If you dont want to read posts in Smut or Random chat - dont read them - I dont - I'm quite happy just going into Ibiza 2002, Music, FAO and Welcome Newbies.

 

You say you haven't even bothered to check half the relevant sections - why not ?

 

James *who at times like this wonders if its worth having a message board which members can post on at all - but then suddenly slips back into reality and realises its only 4 out of 600+ members who have an issue - 4/600 is not 'LOADS'.

 

*who's wondering why a site which was/is meant to be full of GOOD things cant be 24/7 - end of the day we all get enough hassle at work and from our relationships do we really need to off-load our 'bad days' to everyone else ?

 

*who's actively DOING something about all these issues as we speak

 

*who ENCOURAGES people to email him directly on James@ClubTheWorld.uk with their thoughts - currently I only get Sarah, Dave, Alistair, Belle, Rob Freano and a couple of others doing so.

Theres always going to be a differnce of opinion on whatever board you are on. IF everyone agreed with everything i think we would have a problem in itself.

I think the important thing is to express your like/dislike but not get uptight about it.

Just accept that we are all different.

ok ok - firstly can people not default to "what the f*ck are ctw up to" - we aren't doing anything wrong at all so please stop being paranoid....

 

Over the last month or so there have been various discussions about forums and I'm using the input from the members rather than my own personal views.

 

The Health & Fitness has merged, I'm still yet to move the posts over - will hopefully be done today - nothing gets deleted as far as I'm aware of - its just a question that a forum is no longer 'visible'.

 

All future decisions will be made by the results of public polls.

 

You have to understand that sometimes I need to do things as an emergency - e.g. running out of disk space/transfer but this will hopefully go away on the new box.

 

As the great flakey & alasdair once said - you

can please all of the people some of the time, but you cant please all of the people all of the time.

 

I do get slightly angered when people say "where's my post gone - what are you lot up to?" ....

 

PLEASE NOTE: We HAVE been having some problems - due to the amount of posts going on simultaneously - its a known fact that posts dont always get posted or sometimes posted twice - also some posts go 'missing' - this is why I'm looking into possibly moving to vBulletin or upgrading to UBB Threads (both mySQL).

 

If annoys me too when posts go missing but please dont default to assuming we're trying to piss you off - WHY would we do this ??! I have not been brought up to default to anti-trust and I really wish others didnt.

 

No posts will be deleted intentionally unless you are putting another member at risk or its racist etc... Read the Disclaimer please.
