I went from belt drives to Vestax and have to agree that Vestax are sooooo much better. Technics shall remain industry standard though, especially with the new mark fives soon to be available. vestax r the dog bollox imo Quote Mr Happy's fishy fish MangaFish munch munch MSN & e-mail - mangafish@mangafish.net AOL - MangaMorgan Online mixes - http://www.mangafish.net/mixes/
CTW Members ste_trance Posted June 9, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 9, 2003 hahahahahahahaha vestax v tecnics ummmmmmmmm well 1210 mk 5 let me see up to +/- 16 think that is all u need thay have a lot more torque start time 0 to 33 0.7 sec have u listend to a tune on +50 hardly nice is it plus 1210 mk2 u can tune up the speed as well to over +8 think its about +20 but i may be wrong? but u can turn then up Quote mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
CTW Members LiquidEyes Posted June 9, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 9, 2003 Why would you want to pitch the speed above +8? Most music sounds ridiculous at more than about +6. My Vestax decks go up to +10 but unless you're a novelty act or a happy hardcore DJ, then there ain't a lot of point! The torque on my decks is [censored]-hot, faster than 1210s. It's a boring debate though, you're better off getting 1210s because they are standard. (When I get a third deck I will get a 1210.)

That's bollocks, if you have to pitch it up that much, you've chosen the wrong record to bring in. CTW Members Mr Happy Posted June 18, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 18, 2003 not nessasserilly. u've heard about the genre speed funky house (or what ever its called) basically when u play funky house records @ 45rpm - well thats fuking about with the record in the same kinda way i do just cuz i may pitch up/down the odd record more then 10% its dont meen it sounds [censored]. it meens i'm interpreting the record in a diff way. its called being creative with ur vinyl. plus i dont always play all of the record that way - ie, some of the dnb tunes i cut the mid out and just play the percusion and bass from it over a dull techno/nu nrg tune to spice it up. becuse its pitched down if i was to play the record on its own it would sound [censored] but i'm using it as a tool so it works 1 of the reasons dance music has gotten so lame latly is because of the pigion holeing, and if ur telling me i dont have the right to play dnb slower and minimal techno sped up with me nu nrg then i think thats just narrow minded pigion holeing listen to 1 of me cd's and tell me that u KNOw exactly what tunes were sped up and slowed down. i bet u wont beable to tell i dont play ne old record sped up /slowed down - i am VERY fussy about the tunes i play as i'm fully away that some tunes will not be flexible enuf for me to work with (ie 99% or hard house) Quote Mr Happy's fishy fish MangaFish munch munch MSN & e-mail - mangafish@mangafish.net AOL - MangaMorgan Online mixes - http://www.mangafish.net/mixes/
