James, remember that so-called marketing bird you spoke to way back in February just after we first met! Her classic words were - when you told her your ideas for this site - "Look sweetie, it just aint gonna happen!"

Remember? Just wondering actually whether you still speak to this highflyer wannabe bitch just so you can ram those very words back down her stuck-up snotty nosed throat!

This was before Liverpool but just after we wne to The Loop!!!

Yes, indeed I do remember her. The thing was at the time I felt particularly insulted with the way she was speaking to me - keeping her eyes closed, shaking her head at everthing I said and I was angry that what I was saying wasnt sinking in. I've learnt that in 95% of cases you simply cant change peoples views and it really is a waste of time unless they are a like-minder.

Since that event I also decided to change my approach when speaking to people about the site - instead of making it sound like its something good for me turning it round to what its all about and making people realise that its good for them also. I think it is because I speak with such enthusiam that people think its either a con/windup or I'm making money out of it.

This was back in the days where I'd speak to any type of person about it - even the ones in wine bars and just hand them a card to check the site out - this was when 80% of my pictures were from bars - not even clubs! Well ok, the loop was a club but its not really is it!?

This is why I encourage our reps and members not to just hand cards out to anyone and ensure they are like-minders first and into the same scene, or want to get into the same scene. As 4clubbers stated to me 'emailing spamming' is one of the worst crimes on the internet - this goes hand-in-hand with flyer & business card spamming for me - if people aren't interested they aren't interested and never will be - so let them come to you.

We've found on this site that in fact most members have found the site through word-of-mouth or by reading our comments on other message boards which is definitely the best practice. The first 50 odd members on here were in fact people I forced to join from my work and people I've worked with - I think we've only had about 5 posts from that lot put together! Then Kev, Tara & Soph turned up and the ball started rolling as these were the real clubbers.

Oooops - went on a bit there - but yes mate I do remember her and suffice to say although I have now gained some respect for her views I certainly wont be proposing to her - it worries me that people like this are giving critical advice to companies in the hub of London and they really dont know what they're talking about as they are blinkered from reality - her whole career path has been text-book driven and she's gone far too down that line to see peoples real visions.

Its interesting actually - Kev and a couple of others were attracted to the site even in its original form - it was the message it was giving out rather than how pretty it looked which attracted them. In fact Kev preferred the old logo to the new one - and I spent ages deciding on whether to change it or not as we both loved the 'C'. I just wonder how many other people would have joined the site anyway if it had been left in its original form ?

I came to the site for the reason behind it - to meet people and have fun - not to look at the design. the design is pretty nifty, but I wouldnt be bothered with it if the contnent and purpose was boring [Happy]
