There needs to be some compromise on both parts here i think, what that compromise is, is up to you and ur girlfriend!! I think what most men seem to want these days is regular sex and all the benefits of havin a gf but dont wana put the time and effort into things to make them work, not all gf's are grief and hassle etc, just some are and i think that that ruins it for the nicer ones...its the same with men for us, theyre not all bastards but some are which gives the rest a tainted profile...i always judge people on their own merits not off other peoples, i think its always worth a chance and if things dont work then at least u tried!! I think what im, trying to say here is that if u at least give it a good go with her and are willing to compromise then she cant ask for more than that!!

it's the things we have in common which bring us together. it's our differences which keep us together...

 

this is a hard one. clubbing (and drugs) can be so important to some people that they can not consoder being in a relationship with somebody who they can not share that with. it's a decision which everybody has to make for themselves.

 

i think you'l get a lot of good advice on this board from a lot of excellent people but you and your girlfriend have to sort this out.

 

my advice is to talk with your girlfriend.

 

i hope, whatever happens, that you can solve this in such a way that you are both happy

But I've never been in a position to go elsewhere (like I said, I'm not Brad Pitt, nor have I had a one night stand before) so I guess I considered myself lucky to have someone who liked me for me, found me sexy, and I decided that by keeping my mouth shut thing's be better all round.

Talking like that reminds me of me a couple of years back.

 

When I first started college and got my first proper girlfriend, I did EVERYTHING to stay with her, even though the relationship wasn't working, simple because I didn't have another rock to jump to.

 

As soon as I realised that hey, I'm not that bad. A decent personality wins out over good looks any day of the week. You seem a decent bloke - you'd be surprised.

Trouble is though, whatever I do I'm going to end up in the shite. Looks like I'm stuck with being alone for the next six months, and then sorting it out when she gets back. I can't bring myself to hurt her while she's away, and like I said, I might be making the wrong decision.

 

Everything becomes 10x harder when you have to try and work it out alone, as you can never remember exactly what it is that you're trying to sort out...

I could handle a guy that didn't do drugs as long as he didn't preach - but no clubs - no way - i was wiv my x 4 f**in years n years n put up wiv him never wanting to go out n sit in front of the telly wathcing his f**kin black n white war films - I learn't from this and other guys i been out wiv since if u don't have stuff in common then it just doesnt work however u mite fancy them - it jsut causes too many problems and well to me it's a big turn off and well being my whole life revolves around clubbin then i'd never get to see 'em would i?! if they didn't come 2!! To be honest despite all this bollox that relationship experts come out with that if there's lust there then u don't need anything esle and opposites attract an all that - my current fella is exacctly the same as me - we got same outlook on life, same music tastes, we even think the same - it's uncanny!!- i'll say something and he'll say i was jsut thinking that n vice versa - we got exact same backgrounds, and we've never had a arguement and get on great, [censored] i know i'm going on here but what i'm trying to say is the more u got in common the more chance there is of it working ok:D
