I had a good reason to give up smoking so it was a little easier for me....

Not really good advice but i find its easier when I'm out not to have any at all.... its easier to say no to the first one but once you've had that 1st one I usually cant stop.... blink.gif

Good luck though.. it helps the bank balance thumbsup.gif

keep yourself occupied otherwise you will eat more through boredom and things taste loads better when you have quit so its even more tempting

The patches DO work. I stopped for almost 2 weeks. Took them off for a while, then had a ciggy from being stressed out with my job. Then started again.

Would love to give them up but im a bit worried if I put on weight.

Although I weighed myself on the weekend and I was just over 7 stone.

Yikes.

I might ask my Doctor tomorrow about that Zaiban stuff. Apparently it's the dogs hairy danglees. It might not be suitable for me though, but it's worth asking.

I need to start going back to the gyme and toning myself up and get back to looking swish again, so if I decide to quit again, the gyme will occupy(sp) my mind innocent.gif

I haven't had a cigarette now for two years, after a 20 a day habit (and a chimney at the weekends).

It's the best thing I have ever done, and I don't give a shit about the whole 'reformed smoker' abuse...we only go on about it alot more because we have been on both sides and can see how shit it is. How can non-smokers go on about something they have never tried?

Anyway nice one for quitting. make sure you keep yourself occupied and get out of the smoking routine. If your feeling like one in front of the TV because you don't know what to do with your hands then go and do the washing up or something (shit I know but it works).

I quit using hypnotherepy as I didn't think I would really give up through using patches or will power. I've got to say it was the easiest thing I've ever done for something that I thought was going to be so hard. It cost £90 and if I ever go back to smoking it's free for the second session...which I've never needed.

The weight thing is totally true though, you will put on the pounds.

Tunic and I have given up since the end of January and have done it cold turkey. Not had a single puff since. I was determined to do it cold turkey. Especially as my friends paid out a fortune to quit by hypnosis and are still smoking. Lucky for them it is guaranteed so they can go back for more but I don't have faith in that myself. At the end of the day if you want it bad enough you can give up.

What helped for us is the cost. We want to save for a deposit for a house and realised at least £80 a month was going on cigarettes. I now put that £80 straight into savings. What keeps me going is seeing how much my savings are growing yay.gif

Good luck!
