Did anyone see this last night.

 

I was disgusted. Fucking police, they are supposed to be there to protect people and be responsible. What those 5 men done to that poor man was horrific. They should be locked up and pay for what they done that night.

An ex-soldier was involved in a fight and sustained a head injury. He was taken to hospital and started to become abusive (a comon cause from a head injury). The police came to take a statement from him as a witness and instead arrested him for breach of the peace. The hospital let him go even though he did not have a full check up because he became too violent. The police handcuffed him and put him in the back of the van for a short ride to the station.

 

CCTV catches him being dragged into the station clearly unconcious with his trousers around his ankles and mud between his thighs (no one knows what happened between him being put in the van to arriving in the station...well the 5 policemen do but are staying quiet for obvious reasons). The man is left on the floor with his hands cuffed behind his back face down and trousers down. You can hear him chocking on his blood (he also sustained a further head injury and mouth injuries whilst in the van). The policemen leave him and talk about what they want to charge him with. Eventually someone checks him as they can no longer hear him chocking (they said they left him because they thought he was acting although at no point did they say 'oh cut out the act' or anything) he has no pulse and then dies.

 

Next the whole case is messed up as obviously the police look out for their own. The case got chucked out because of the cock ups. I read today though that it will be re-opened.

He got violent because he had sustained a head injury! No reason for what happened to him at all.

 

To think that someone who served this country was left to die like that was fucking shocking and skickening!

I agree it doesn't warrant his death. I do not know all the facts and chose not to watch the program as it struck me as a little biased.   I'll have a look about for what info there is on the case, see what conclusion I arrive at.   I've had harsher treatment during training in the TA, god knows what Para training is like, but I imagine it's a lot harsher than being hand cuffed. Albeit with a few serious injuries.

i know it doesnt count for much but i spose its gonna be like any cctv/real life programme, you only see what they want you to see.

maybe so, but the truth will out in court & end of the day, the lad was in police custody for right or wrong & he ended up dead!!

as do many people in police custody/prison whether it is through drugs, drink, fights, or other reasons it will happen and always will do, unfortunate but true.

 

i know what you mean though

 

my point was The media has always had a habit of picking one case out of thousands (or more) and making it look like a every day occurance, just to see the publics reaction, and so far they are sucseeding in causeing the public to have less and less trust in the police because of it.

I can't actually believe some replies to this.

 

Alex WTF?! This man was dragged into a station unconcious...not one police officer checked him to see if he was OK! He was dragged in with injuries sustained somewhere between the hospital and the station. He was dragged in with his trousers down and mud between his thighs. He was dragged in and left on the floor chocking. He was dragged in and he died.

 

You tell me if you have had this done, you tell me if this is right to be treated like this, you tell me that this is not gross negligence (sp).

he didn't even make it to a cell Lou, didn't even get to get charged.

 

He was quite literally 'dragged' in...unconcious and left!

 

It's fucking shocking. This is no tv edit, it's people that completely failed to do their job properly and left a man to die. You have to watch it I guess.
