well it is reading to me that, the police force do not employ upper class citizens!! shrug.gif

It's not a class thing.

The job just doesn't attract the upper tiers of society.

The job does seem to attract it's fair share of officious types though.

Cynical bunch.

I have great faith and repsect for the police and what they do. As in any profession, you get bad eggs. The police force is no different.

How many times do you take the police for granted, for simple things like asking directions, let alone solving serious and preventing serious crimes.

It's a pretty thankless task and I'm glad they're there and do such a good job.

My only experience of the Police so far is being told off by them when I was a kid, being told not to waste their time when I was mugged, being pulled over whilst driving (between the ages of 18 and 22, at some points as many times as once a week) and being arrested for drink driving.

I'm hardly a master criminal, but I've yet to see them in a positive light

you got arrested for drink driving?.....just goes to prove that there doing the job right then rolleyes.gif

snowqueen, just because your brother has a bad experience with the police, (which it was probably the courts desision on his punishment not the police) doesnt mean they are all incompetent,

i used to have the same thought about them myself till my brother-in-law and mate joined up and i have come to realise that its tougher than it looks, not just physically but mentally aswell.

so i take it if something bad happens you wouldnt call them?........what with them being a waste of space and all?????

who would you turn to instead? just out of curiosity like wink.gif

Actually he pulled me over because, he said "I don't like lads who drive Escorts"

Fair enough if he pulled me over for weaving all over the road (which I wasn't), but instead it was to do with his prejudices.

I make no excuses for my decision to drive that night.

I have called them out before and was told not to waste their time (see above re mugging). To be honest I have only needed them once and they didn't help.

thats my point too, mate

Did anyone see this last night.

I was disgusted. Fucking police, they are supposed to be there to protect people and be responsible. What those 5 men done to that poor man was horrific. They should be locked up and pay for what they done that night.

why?

its about time thugs feared the police

I doubt the police thought it was that bad an idea handcuffing a violent ex Para, considering the kind of training that fella's been through. For personal safety I'd want a ex/soldier handcuffed, who was acting violently for what ever reason, even if he was injured.

They didnt know he was an ex para though!

They only knew his name, you can hear them say this on the CCTV.

Do you think some of the get a power trip kinda thing out of it!!??

unsure.gif I reckon *some* coppers do.

2 of my best friends from school days have gone on to join the police force in the last 2 years (they're both 23 now). Even they say that the majority of their collegues are "ignorant/arrogant twats" (they exclude themselves from this comment but there's still time for them to change! w00t.gif one of them has already developed a distinct air of superiority when around us civvies mad.gif )
