[ CTW Site News ] - New Server - Members views on Advertising?

I think the only options are either :

 

1. Charge users based on their access to the site (Not really a good option) or

2. Advertising .... as long as there isn't loads of stupid pop-ups then I can't see it being a major problem.

 

I think the main thing is to ensure that the site is usable and if you need to raise cash to buy a bigger server and improve resilance then I'm sure users will be happy with what ever option you pick.

 

You could always setup some 0891 sex line numbers and have CreamyC on hand to answer the calls, I'm sure Miss DC would entertain this option 2 ??

Yep Nothing wrong with advertising esp if it's relevant informative and fun. All for it!!, or else we will struggle to sustian the site, with all the new peeps, I think.

 

Anyway Peeps will only have to click if they want to.

Yeah, I always end up clicking on them cos I use the smart move thing on my mouse and get too excited with my clicking....but I don't mind other ads.

No way are we ever gonna have popups - or the ones which are layered on top of areas of the screen you are trying to look at.

 

It will just be standard banner area in the top right - like 4c, gurn, harderfaster have.

 

Cant promise about relevancy yet - especially if its through an agent but longer term i'm sure the ads will only be clubbing related as and when we find the right advertisers.

Yeh, I agree but if someone is paying you loads of cash, would you be arsed. I've been with some mingers in my time when I've been pissed, so whats the diff. Get pissed at the restuarant and then back for a bit of rumpy pumpy, leaving with a wad of cash after - bonus !!!!
