There seems to be a lot more meetups in the London area as well - we need to arrange something similar for the north - like a midweek thing. Problem is people are more spread out up here where as Londerners are all in a smaller area.

To be honest, this is the first clubbing site/forum I've been to so I can't compare ... but all I can say is it's wicked ... totally, totally wicked!

Everytime I turn my computer on I go to CTW first, even before my inbox in Outlook Express.

James, who would have thought that an idea about meeting up with a friend from Ibiza would turn into this ... well done mate, you deserve it thumbs.gif

This is the friendliest site I've been on and people are wicked. Lots of other sites have little clicky groups that meet up and they only go out with each other, where as on here everyone is welcome to all the meet ups.

oOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOo

Lots of bubbles but where's the coke?

James, who would have thought that an idea about meeting up with a friend from Ibiza would turn into this ...

I know mate - basically I got that stressed out and depressed about not going out enough I just physically had to do something about it - I felt like I was pretty 'sad' at the time literally almost begging for strangers to become my friends but as soon as I'd found those one or 2 people who were just like me I could then relax and it was easy. I think the golden rule with anything in life is to just go for it and to really not give a stuff who thinks what about you or how silly you might look - you learn by your mistakes and move on - others who dont make mistakes are also the ones who are scared to try out new things. I personally will never shy away from anything now. Life really is about experiencing as many different things as possible - hence why I want to now meet as many people as possible and learn from their experiences.

ok Wub I'll shut up now !

Well I've only been on here for a day but just from that I can tell your all alot more friendly and alot less cliquey than other message boards, alot of boards I've been on don't really bother with new members (Unless it's a fit lady ! hump.gif ) but on here your made to feel welcome from the word go thumbs.gif

Seriously, I think the smut forum is a great idea. Nice to have a site that is aimed at adults (doesn't censor swear-words in posts, etc...) There's a place for serious talk (some of the debates & chats are very thought-provoking), and a place for light-heartedness (smut/joke forums etc).

The best thing is that you encourage "newbies" to meet up with you. What James said is very inspiring - it's nice to know there are other people like me who are actively looking to make more friends. So many people are just happy to hang out with the same people all the time. rolleyes.gif

I moved to London a couple of years ago after graduating, and it's only over the last few months (after splitting up from a long-term g/f, basically) that I realised, I don't actually have many friends down here. To top it off I was made redundant and all my mates from [censored] moved away to new jobs. But, I love the clubbing scene and I don't want to leave London ... it's just frustrating I hardly have any mates to go clubbing with! cry.gif

What is worse than Friday night yearning to party and socialise and dance ... and you're on your tod at home!! I'm quite a confident person but going out on your own is still daunting ... even though some clubs are very friendly and you can meet really nice people in there. Every now and then I take some contact details for some cool people I've met in clubs, with every intention of meeting up again some time, but this hasn't happened much in London.

It seems kinda sad, especially after two years, and ironically in a city with so many people!

It's been quite depressing actually, but I've realised, the reason I don't have many friends isn't because there's something wrong with me, it's just because of circumstances. I used to have a huge circle of friends at university and I'm still the same person now!

If you're into keeping fit then you join a gym and meet people through that. If you like choral music then you join a choir. So I used to think, damnit, why can't I join a clubbing society and meet people who are also mad about music and going out? They had one at uni, so why can't they have one in London?

So all in all, this site is a great idea. thumbs.gif Very professional and well thought-out too. My advice is: keep being nice to newbies smile.gif and keep organising social events!

One other thing, after my first meet-up last night, it's great that not everyone seems to have the "hardcore caner" mentality. You know, when you chat to randoms in clubs and all they seem to talk about is how many nights they've larged it on the trot / how many different substances they've taken / blah blah. Not really what clubbing's about if you ask me. Not that there's anything wrong with utterly caning it from time to time!! grin.gif That was the only thing I was apprehensive about, and that I would be out of place as a more "casual" clubber. Not so, I'm pleased to say! wink.gif

Right, er, end of ramble, sorry!! flash.gif

Liquideyes - this story is true of many people on here - definately of both myself & James.

I was in a very similar situation 5/6 years ago and eventually just went out on my own - i didnt have access to internet or know of sites like these - would have been a lot easier if i had!

I did it though and from that one night of going out by myself believe i built up all the contacts i know now. Meeting just 1 person that night lead to more & more friends.

What makes this site different is that you actually get a picture of the people that post, even though mine isn't done yet (gonna give PVC a great big over the knee spanking when I get my hands on her)...that to me makes it more friendly.

I've changed my screen to the pink version rather than blue so I like that you can customise things to your own taste.

The forums make great reading, especially past clubbing events that are well thought out and entertaining. The gallery is fun, not to mention the Icons.

Everyone on this board seems to be after the same thing, meeting new people and having a good time, and that's wot clubbing is about! bouncy.gif

I consider everyone I've met from CTW my friends and that makes it special. Even u Creamy! grouphug.gif

My teenage daughter has been kidnapped, and the people I work with may be involved in both.
