any ideas on how to stop a nose bleed - i used to get them a lot when i was younger and now they've started again - problem is they take ages to stop as the bloody doesnt clot too well.

My nose used to have periods on a regular basis. Went to the doc and he gave me some sort of spray as he reckoned there was a problem with the lining of my nose.

I'll cast as lil ole spell to stop your nose bleeding.

Whatever u do DON'T put your head between your legs which some people will tell u to. As your head will be lower than your heart it will bleed more, thus taking longer to clot. Pressure at the top of your nose should suffice.

I learnt this of HelenTheNurse.

Good advice Ed. Never tilt your head back this is not good, you should tilt your head forward to let the blood come out. If you put your head back you could choke on the blood (advice usually given to people who may have a nose bleed when drunk and not totally aware of what they are doing)
