Venues in Scotland

Depends what kind of "event" you're after - you mean just like a normal club night?

Edinburgh -

Liquid Room = 1000 capacity, arguably second-best sound system in Edinburgh, plays host to Colours, amongst other nights (it's where the Essential Mix came from recently). www.liquidroom.com

The Venue = 900 capacity across three floors, nice slightly underground feel to it

Corn Exchange = somewhere around 3000 capacity, Edinburgh's main gig venue, outside of town, www.ece.uk.com

There are quite a few others but it really depends what event you'd be wanting to put on and who you'd want to attract, and of course how many people.

Glasgow -

The Arches = 2000 capacity I *think* but don't quote me on that, good sound system, poor to non-existent air conditioning (apparently). www.thearches.co.uk

and thats where my knowledge of Glasgow stops...

Then there's conference centres outside of both towns, if you were thinking of putting on something bigger than big.

Can I ask what for? It'd help to give you some more suitable recommendations...well in Edinburgh anyway.

glasgow, the arches (yup about 2,000) air con has been improved though i think it doen't [censored] all the time. It's very flexible with a variable number of arches open at any one time, from 1-5, so an 800 person night is easily possible, in fact it's mostly IO and Pressure which open up all the arches and they're the biggest nights in scotland i think.

-alsaka is closed, apparently was quite good

-sub club has opened again but I dont know much about it

-the tunnel has died and gone to hell (r'n'b now) though it seems to be an ok venue though I've never been there personally

-Mas is cool but might have also closed (that's what was in the rumour mill anyway - if you want me to find out I will.)

-Destiny is awful

-Archaos had a Colours night recently so they can't be that bad though again I've never been there.

-Privalege is terrible, full of ned buying drinks at extortionate prices in a crappy space.

those above are all in glasgow

There are many more but these are the main ones I know anything of, hope it's some help!
