Cd compilations

was looking thro some psy trance CD's at a stall in camden market a while back, and the way the compilations work is that you get two CD's. One CD has the stand-alone tracks, the other CD has the tracks mixed together.

So you basically get each song twice -- on it's own and in the mix.

which got me thinking why don't the resonates and Tidys work like this. It would mean 4 Cd's for each album, which is all of an extra 30p for them, and 2 jewel cases.

"cos it's cheaper not to"... but would be nice....if you think about it, you pay ur money, and you don't actually get "each track".

I suspect that with music like psy-trance and drum & bass, it's harder for labels to make money out of single sales, so they want to give you more incentives to buy their albums...?

the answer is simple phil.

if they gave away the full unmixed track on each cd, then people wouldnt buy the vinyl / cd singles

how would having the full track on cd, affect vinyl sales?

altho if you were a CD DJ, then being able to get 40 tracks for £15 would be silly from their point of view.

most DJs i know play both cd's and vinyl and most club set-ups have CD decks.
