I don't relate to the board anymore

 

Dunno why... I've tried to put my finger on it, but i just can't figure it out...

I loved posting on her but i find it a real effort now.

 

I really dont wanna lose touch with everyone that ive met, cos ya all cool as fuck, and its always gonna be the same when we all meet up, but for me, the board seems to have lost something.

 

I really cant figure out what it is... I miss how it used to be (or is it just me?)

..and its honestly bothering me.

 

this might no be a good time to post cos im pissed and i'll regret it tomorrow, but does anyone else feel the same way? I know a few other peeps have moved onto other boards..

 

The wildchild meet-ups seem to be the only thing that brings a common interest nowadays.

 

...Or is this down to my recent 'low hard house tolerance'?

ps.. i dont post on 'Trance Boards' its not about that... (Everyone loving the same thing causes stagnation and boring posts!)

 

Theres just seems to be a too much of a 'respect everyone elses taste and opinion' thing going on... To the point where anyone causing debate is slapped down for it or made into a nazi of some sort.

 

Or 'dont be nasty!'

 

I'm an opininated fucker for which i hold no shame... Its called passion for what you love and believe in..

 

This seems to be frowned on in the current climate and it saddens me...

To think i used to have 15, 000 posts on the old board, yeah i used to spend a lot of time on here... but that says it all really. There was something to keep me here!

 

I cant put my finger on it either! Several minority things do spring to mind tho, but thats not the whole cause!

 

Was it the arguments? That people hated.... but deep down, loved more than your mum!

 

Is it the old board lay out? I for sure miss that a lot! It was UNIQUE! Every c*nts got one of these Powered by Invision Power Board(U) v1.3 Final © 2003 IPS, Inc. forums....

 

I dont know whats changed, or whats different. This is just MY OPINION.

To me just doesn't feel as 'welcoming' .... People used to be able to take a joke or a snide remark... Most the ppl I have talked to on here I liked but kinda just lost interest in posting... just don't feel all comfy like it felt before... but thats my opinion... so I rarely ever come on here anymore... Even tho I am from the USA still made some friends...and got the chance to meet up with at leat one of ya

even though the past week iv been posting about 40 posts per day, during the past 5 weeks iv took a step back, i have spoke to some people about this and i do have my reasons.

 

said it before and il say it again.......from an outsiders view this place is soo cliquey

 

i sat back and watched for 2 weeks while i couldnt post a while back and i could see why newbies dont stick around after there first post.

It doesn't seem to be so clubbing orientated anymore. Which is probably why I'm still posting on here, for the banter as I've lost interest in clubbing. Except recently the people who are the most amusing on here are being put on moderation, which kinda puts me off coming here.

 

Other than that it seems to be pretty much what it's always been like, long periods of everything being ok, then bouts of concern by some members that it's not what it used to be.

 

Things change for people, I guess.

i've noticed a lack of posts from those tup north - highlander, tart, hoover and Moo (to name a few). the absence of Kev is undoubtedly a contributing factor too.

 

imo, the board is too nice - i'm not a fan of this whole moderation thing (are we still at school?) and the lack of dirty/rude/controversial posts is a bit shit.

things have gone down a bit atm but its true!

 

seems like every1 has got there own group of friends and wen new members join and they havent been introduced to ctw by a existing member its hard for them to get in with a group!

 

the moderation has gone a bit to far seems like you cant have a laugh here anymore!

 

i have been postin on another board which is a lot more fun laid back and easy goin lets get THAT ctw back!

 

we were 1 of the strongest message boards goin our meet ups were/are the bollox!

1) How can you stop certain individuals form being cliquey ?

 

2) Nothing is ever how it used to be.

 

3) Moderation - would you lot rather there be no rules / moderation put in place and let cliquey people / anyone run a ruck or just be down right sods and get away with it ? Hmmn.. I don't think so

 

4) CLUBTHEWORLD speaks for itself. The long term outlook is to club globaly. Well, at least that is the outlook on the dedicated people, the people who want to help ClubTheWorld progress. It's all about going out and meeting eachoter / new people.

 

Maybe that is what this board needs. Fresh flesh. Fresh, genuine people who really are up for supporting ClubTheWorld.

 

I know that's what I think anyway.

 

Regardless, I am happy with ClubTheWorld and it's progress, despite a few tossers that come on just act tw^ts for the fun of it.

 

Either way - ClubTheWorld has NOT lost anything.

The moderation thing is incredibly hard to strike a balance with and I'm not sure it's always for the best, but that said I do think it is necessary and a key to the success of any forum (so long as it seems to be balanced and consitant).

thats where the problem is,

 

i always try to welcome the newbies, in fact iv probably welcomed every newbie and been nice, gave them a chance to fit in, but unfortunately not everyone is like this iv seen where newbies have answered a genuine post with a genuine answer and got the old "who the fuck are you" and "dont you know who i am" comments........some of the regulars may know whos taking the piss and whos not but a newbie wouldnt.

 

as for the people not supporting CTW.......we all support CTW by posting, meet-ups etc, ok some of us cant make all the meets ups, some of us cant afford it or have other commitments, (like me being skint & people up north that have to make a whole weekend of it).....i dont want to feel like just because i cant make a big meet i should be excluded from the group.

 

i am a genuine person, i have suppoted CTW and i will carry on supporting CTW, even if its from a distance

Everyone says that clubbing was better back in the day, and it seems the same has happened with CTW. It's quite simple, people get bored of the same thing.

 

It is very easy look back at the old board and say that things were better, but CTW has evolved, it's had to. In all fairness, it represents different values these days than it did 2 years ago, when it was solely about peeps meeting and having a laugh. Nowdays CTW is promoting nites and DJs as well as other things. Things never stay the same and u have to move with the times.

 

The people haven't changed within themselves, but there has been a shuft, with different people becoming the "prominent" members which with it will inevitably change the board's ethos.

 

However, I am with peeps on the moderation thing, it's gone way over the top. Before when people did something outrageously bad they were admonished appropriately, now we get warnings from mods for the silliest thing, who seem to be on a mission to wrap everyone up in cotton wool, we're not kids, if people don't come here with an open mind then we don't want them and they'll soon find it out for themselves. These draconian rules will inevitably cause peeps to "pack up and go" - so come on let's start being sensible and let the members decide what's good for CTW as well as admin.

 

Afterall it is run for the members isn't it?

Have you ever stopped and thought that sometimes, James may be too EMBARASSED to show people i.e work collegues / family, this site (im saying IF we didn't have rules / mods) hen all people talk about is drugs / slatings etc and the like ?

 

If people started posting crap like continuous drug talk / banter, slatings etc (as it were before) I am sure most would be PM'in James all the time asking to delete this, deleted that, tell so and so off. Im sure that is the reason there are mods on this board. I don't have a problem with it.

 

Also, twats signing up hiding behind a fake name and posting shit about certain memebrs isn't on. Therefore, Moderators are a good thing to have.

 

TO BE HONEST, I am not arsed if Members decide to 'pack up and go' because it is soley their own choice an not forced by anyone. People are not forced to join and forced to post.

 

I am all for having rules and moderation on this board.
