When a community reaches a certain size, it fragments and people split off into groups. People have different interests and some people don't necassarily like each other. I feel that that clubtheworld has a great ethos in trying to get as many people together as possible and does that more effectively than any other website going.

Unfortunately it is a victim of it's own sucess.

You can't ask everyone to like each other. You can't ask everyone to have the same attitute. I feel, that on the whole, despite the banter and abuse and the bullshit, the people on clubtheworld come together well at the meetups.

I think the content on the message board suffers from some more of the older, established, and dare I say it, more intelligent members leaving or rarely posting anymore.

What we do have, are some established cliques where whatever is said goes. Some good banter between some others which provides good entertainment for all. And some awfully inane, mindless tosh which makes me want to kill kittens.

I am aware that some people don't like me for the way I am on the board. I dont like some people on the board but in general when I meet them most people are alright. I don't think the board is any more unwelcoming than it was. In fact, when I first came on the board I was slated hard and it wasn't until I met people and we got to know each other that we accpeted each other.

I think people need to scratch beneath the surface of the characters on the board. Not everyone is as they seem. I, for one, would be appalled if you thought you knew 1% of what goes on in my head from what I post on the board. Communities have their place but real life is real life. Communities have their roll in allowing people to come together but opinions of each other should be formed in real life.

The board is pretty well self-moderated on the whole. If something is out of order then people complain. I object to over-moderation but understand that a line must be drawn somewhere. I don't think that the mods are far off but I think that the majority should be listened to more than the "vocal minority".

I love clubtheworld, I love the people I've met. Long may it continue.

Excuse, ramblyness above: I'm drunk.

You're not such a ###### when you're drunk.

I love tits when I'm drunk.

They mellow me out.

I'm not on CTW as much as I used to be, but that can only be a good thing, I used to be virtually addicted!

I still enjoy participating in the forums, I just don't post as much. CTW still rules, but I have other things to do with my free time.

The main downer is that there are not so many quality "serious" discussions to participate in as there used to be ... I guess I've always left it to others to start the discussions.

On the flipside, the music forums have definitely improved: there is a greater breadth of music taste amongst the contributors, and there are more production-orientated discussions than there used to be.

I love serious discussions with the likes of neet, you, Alex, Scream, Alisdairm; I think we should make more of an effort to start talking about things we really care about and start a bit of a renaissance on the baord.

I tend to find that most of the serious discussions are either ignored or are dominated by "red top" readers which I find largely frustrating seeing as clubbers are supposed to be a liberal group of people.

I still go out and I am looking forward to Dance Valley - its a pity more members dont make the effort for some of these meets as THIS is in fact what CTW is ALL about, and as you will see long term this is what it will ONLY be about - varied trips to varied locations with varied people.

no offence but its comments like this that, that make me feel left out and a member that dont put in the effort. sad.gif

i cant afford to do london meets never mind meets in amsterdam, but i still thought i was putting in the effort by getting to the meets once a month
