Wouldn't call myself a "proper" producer by far! It really is an absession of a hobby! I've only just got me a decent computer (been using a pentium 1 until last month!) and still trying to find my way around the software I have.

Although I have what I would call "ideas" laid down, it takes so long to simply lay down something like a snare roll the way I want it I don't have any truely finished tunes. I don't really like using set loops and samples too much. It takes away from the sound you're aiming to get from your head to the page.

Just trying to finish up a short Hardcore tune at the mo but it won't be ready for a bit yet.

How many producers are on this board and what gear do you use?

I've been at it a year and just got me a new PC which has a made a load of difference!

P4 2.5

Soundcard yet to get. Probably getting an audiophile.

Using Acid 4

Can't figure out cubase

Also have fruity and Rebirth but had no time to check them out properly.

Fav soft synths - FM7, Absynth & Pentagon

Thank god for Kazaa!! wink.gif

My [censored] is based around the ever popular Cubase Vst / 32 sequencer* / audio multitrack running on an Apple Mac G4, the studio contains many Midi sound modules & samplers ranging from Akai 3200's to Yamaha JV1080 fully loaded sound module.

Monitoring is provided by Yamaha & Shermann Audio connected to a Yamaha 03D digital mixing console & Mackie 32 channel submixer.
