Five days after he was last seen officers are appealing for help to trace a 21 year old man who disappeared during a night out in Manchester.

 

David Plunkett, came to Manchester on Saturday 17th April 2004 for an organised trip to attend the Budweiser Music Event at the Daytona Racetrack, Trafford Park in Manchester.

 

David and a friend met at the Hakuna Matata bar on Swinegate in Leeds at about 7pm on Saturday before being picked up by a free coach which then took them to the event in Manchester.

 

During the night David became separated from his friend and has not been seen since.

 

Officers know David's parents tried to contact him in the early hours of Sunday morning, and a call was connected to his mobile shortly after 1.30am.

 

David came to Manchester for a night out and there has been no trace of him since then. His disappearance is completely out of character as David has never been missing before and always keeps in contact with his friends and family to let them know where he is.

 

We know there were more than 3,000 people at the event in Manchester and the Police now need to speak with anyone who was at Trafford Park on Saturday night and remembers seeing anyone matching David's description at the end of the evening.

 

Eleven coaches brought clubbers from across the North of England to the event so we are hoping someone will have seen David.

 

We don't know whether David left the Manchester area on one of the coaches or not but if anyone remembers seeing him on a coach we need to know.

 

We don't know for definite that the person who answered the phone in the early hours of Sunday morning was David but that is one of the lines of enquiry which we are following. David's phone has not been used since and we have not found any trace of it.

 

I would urge anyone who can help us trace David or David himself to contact the Police on 0161 856 7841 or 856 7842.

 

David is described as a white male, 5ft 11 inches, average build, dark brown swept back hair which is collar length at the back. He has long thin sideburns.

 

David was last seen wearing oblong small frame silver glasses. He was also wearing black trousers with a pale pink pinstripe in them and a red/pink shirt.

 

He was a silver ring on his right hand and a silver bracelet.

 

For information, the coaches traveled from Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield, Stafford and Stoke.

 

David's phone which is still missing is an Ericsson T28.
