Personally i prefer cubase.

Not sure where you can download the manual from try wwww.steinberg.com

The manual is quite baffling tho! There are loads of books for beginners on cubase. I bought one and found it a great help. Will dig you out a link

That is just the kit I am running, Cubase and Reason. I love them both. Reason has the advantage of being all-in-one, self contained, whereas with Cubase, you have to buy every additional softsynth you want (as a basic package, it is just a midi/audio sequencing package, but you can add in VST instruments and effects). The disadvantage with Reason is that it is self-contained, so you can't add in extra instruments (unless you go the sample route). You can run the two in unison, using Rewire, and get the best of all worlds. (As long as your bank balance and PC Power can handle it). I believe you can download a demo of reason from www.propellerheads.se (or it may be .com)

cheers Guys.

i've actually got copies of reason and cubase ready to use. Had a quick look at them last night as just looked a bit baffling at a first glance. But i'm sure it wont take me long to get started. spliff.gif

Will probably be bugging you both with stupid questions soon though nod.gif

Maybe it's cos I'm dreadful at computers, but I think actually getting to grips with them is [censored] hard, and I'm only just picking up the basics.

In theory they are simple, but with all the plug-ins you can get, they are increasingly more complicated.

Bk uses logic, and I've had a quick look at this round my mate's house, and it looks quite user friendly.

This is just my maybe not very well educated opinion though!

I'M HUNGRY!

I think it is just whatever you are used to, I learnt on Cubase, and I love it, find it fairly user friendly, so have never really looked at Logic.

I like reason because it is 'lite' on my pc prossesing power, i can have loads of subtractor synths running with loads of effects and not worry about my pc crashing, with cubase it is all about vst and i find them to hungry for the pc resources..
