nick dont know whether you know mate, but can i get 17's on a lowered mk3 golf without [censored] the arches. Does yours rub with 15's on??

17's fit a mk3 no worries - just make sure you get the right offset for VW's (alot of people make this mistake). Be careful though if you've lowered it more than say 20mm cos if there's 2 of you in the front and you're on full lock in either direction, you *could* rub the inner arch slightly, but who cares about a little rub here and there!

Do you have power steering? remember, putting bigger wheels on your car does look good but it does put alot more strain on your steering rack at low speeds.

If you're gonna roll the arches, i've seen 20's on a mk3 and it looks superb!
