This is so fuckin true! Does everyone remember the days when fergie was a HH dj? He releases House of pain and hoovers & horns etc. Well have known ferg for a while and know for a fact he didnt go near a single piece of equipment when those tunes were made. He sat and played the playstation. This knd of thing happens all the time.

"Yeah that sounds good mr engineer, keep that bit!"

yawn.gifyawn.gifyawn.gifyawn.gif

Its a shitter tho, cos they get paid loads from sales when labels like Nukleuz get hold of em!

Exactly mate!

But what can you do, the monkey djs still buy it and big them up. But thats the music biss full stop.

And then we find it hard to get stuff from purgatory signed to big labels. We done a follow up to Busted caled police brutality, which was twice as good as busted but tidy wouldnt touch it.

Completely sucks, but the music biz isnt about how good a DJ or track is....its about how much money can be made from them/it banghead.gif

See, I HAVE used an engineer when making my tracks (which I still haven't got around to finishing), but they have been MY ideas, and I have been trying to pick stuff up for myself as well.

I understand the elements I need to use, and how to build a tune - I know what I want, but I'm just [censored] with computers, so therefore I need it engineered for me at the moment!

I'M HUNGRY!

Thats what engineers are there for!!! But as we have beens aying, certain big name producers abuse the engineers...

LML theres nothing wrong with using an engineer, lots of ppl are doin the same as you. Like you said you want creative input into your songs but you dont have the knowledge in the studio. Thats cool, becos at the end of the day its still your tune. It still sounds the way you want it, not how the engineer thinks it should sound.

You will learn as you get in the studio more, and start fiddling about yourself and develope your own style.

Just dont get stuck in the rut of using an engineer for ever as it is an easy thing to do.

Respect to them tho - Ingo engineered their tracks, yet neither sound like an Ingo tune - thats the sign of a producer having some actual input into the studio time!

2b honnest i'm getting pissed of of ppl saying

"i'm creating a track with a well known producer" and then making a tune that djs play

i admit its 99% jelousy, but if i have to do things the hard way (ie self teach using softsynths etc and warez) then i cant c y others should be aloud to short cut this process

this rule ofcourse is retractable as soon as BK rings me up asking me 4 sum studio time laugh.gif

Why shouldnt they do it?

Its up to them, you chose to do it the self taught way, so dont slag them off!

You could have done it the same way, but chose not to. By them producing with an engineer, they are simply getting full and decent tracks made as they learn. However you wont have any thing to release standard as you've gone into it blind and have a huge learning curve.

Dont put down other ppls chosen path just becos you didnt choose it yourself
