CTW Moderators Maria Posted April 17, 2003 CTW Moderators Share Posted April 17, 2003 What's it all about? I’ve wandered, what is the point of music, and why do we all love it so much? All music is really, is a rhythmical combination of sounds and voices, so why do we find it so pleaseing and enjoyable? If I aint at work I either seem to be listening to music, or I have a song or tune that's constantly reapeating itself in my head. There are different types of music genres associated with pretty much everything in life. You just can’t escape it! It does play a huge part in our lives doesn't it? How would our lives be without music to listen too? Would that void be filled by something else? And would society be entirely different? Discuss. CTW DJs LiamStyles Posted April 17, 2003 CTW DJs Share Posted April 17, 2003 Couldnt imagine life without music!!! Theres music inside everybody, thats why the africans started beating the drum. basically it just built from there and developed with technology. This being my point. I recently dj'd at a trance club, but didnt want to play trance as ive turned to a more techno sound. The 1st 5 records i played just contained a kick drum and loads of tribal drums. If i played those tracks to anyone of you in my bedroom you would all say they were boring. But play them records in a club like i did, on a massive soundsystem, the crowd went mental. it was weird! Everybody has this instinct in them that when there is a beat, they will move you just cant help it. Music is something we will never fully understand, it just makes us feel good.
