I ve just done a cd and im good, ive played in clubs before but i have taken time out from moving so now im back up and running i need to know which clubs are needing djs, my style from scot project to anything above that,

yeah im a promoter, not really lookin for djs tho to be honest,we got 3 residents to fit in so only have room for one guest a night, therefore that guest has gotta either bring a guaranteed amount of people paying through the door or hav a bit of a name to attract the people

I am promoting the event in my signature - its only a yearly event but its all in aid of a good cause - the backroom this year is made up of 'upcoming' DJs like yourself and will probably be the same next year!

 

In my honest opinion though, I would much rather be handed a cd personally from a DJ - its always better to have a chat face to face, rather then just "another faceless demo" if that makes sense???

 

Another tip for ya as well, seperate the tracks on the cd - hardly ever get time to listen to a cd in one go and if other promoters are like myself, after a quick listen, the cd will be discarded as there is no 'resume point'.... only a small tip, and probably really obvious, but it could be the difference between a booking and not...

 

Like I say tho, the event I organise is purely a once-yearly thing for the world dj fund charity organisation (details @ www.worlddjfund.com), but feel free to pass a cd onto me if you want to be considered for future events (am also looking into a regular monthly event as well starting over the summer if possible....)

the cd i have done is a non stop cd you can select whatever track you wanna listen to, but i do understand your point though about seeing a dj face to face.

lol - i didnt mean have several short sets on there, i ment make sure there are track markers throughout the mix! (although by sounds of it, you have done anyway!)
