Reviews/Interviews on the site

One thing that really annoys me about reviews is when they are too long and too personal. I find that you usually switch off after a paragraph or two and you alienate the majority of your audience if you write a chronological list of what happened at an event.

 

With interviews, what really bugs me is when just a transcript of what was said is posted. Why not add some research into the person you're interviewing? Also, link the various parts of the conversation with information from the research or your viewpoint on what was said. The human element makes it seem a lot more professional and a much better read.

 

I'd be willing to interview/review for the site if you wished.

Some good points, the issue we've always had here though is finding people who will stick at doing something and not get bored and give up or even leave the site (!) - basically everything is done on a voluntary basis and so most people dont have incentives to keep doing them.

 

If you can offer some input as to how we can improve the reviews etc.. then that would be cool, I will try and talk to you about this when I get a mo mate.

 

At the moment we only have Tony, Maria & Bushy writing stuff for the site and I'm well chuffed they are helping out - and all on a very part time basis really - but we've also learnt we shouldnt rush into putting up loads of new content if we cant keep it current and updated.

 

We also need more photographers or at least more people submitting photos to the new member galleries.

 

Sometimes I wonder whether we should be even trying to add new content to the site and just stick to doing what we started out doing but its all down to who we have involved / who can do what / when. If anyone feels they can contribute on a regular basis and they want to do it purely for the love of it then please PM me - cheers !

I know everyone is doing their best and it's all voluntary but it's the same on every other website too.

 

James wants ctw to be different, this is an area where he could make ctw better than the rest, especially when it comes to interviews.

 

I've a few ideas in that department and will discuss them with James when I see him next.

Kether, I think the interview side of things with the dj's are how certain promoters have asked them to be presented, but as for reviews, why not do one on Wildchild & present that

yeah, can i just make it clear i'm really pleased with what Tony has managed to work out for the site with regards interviews etc... (not to mention past smile sets for ALL member DJs) - without him we'd have fook all content at all right now
