if they sun came between the earth and the moon the whole planet's atmosphere and everythingon it would be burnt away and the planet would most likely disintegrate/plummet into the sun after being caught in it's gravity well

I don't think that the sun could fit between the Earth and the Moon.

 

The distance from the Earth to the Moon is roughly 356,614 km. The Sun's diameter is 1,391,980 km
